I'll prob get my balls busted for this but summer 2015 after losing to Caps I had a cigar with Cappy, he was here because his buddy from Boston had horses running. Anyway, I was breaking his chops about not playing Boychuck on the pp (among other things) and he said he had no say in it. Dougie ran the pp and was basically instructed by Snow on who to play where. I also made a comment about hating Wilson and he said he thought the hit on Vis was clean and he loved how he played My take was that Snow ran everything, which is why I believe Snow preferred less experienced coaches. Insecure wienerhead.
- streaks

Interesting. I assumed Snow had some input, but did not realize the extent.

I always thought Garth made most of the decisions. It's the reason he did not want a proven coach.

Knew it would not take long. JT is very one dimensional. JT did not want Barry telling him to play defense. It's why he loved Cappy and Doug.

Yea, it was very apparent how things were run. Even as far as input on draft pics. I was asking about Griffen Reinhart, and he said he didn't like the pic but Garth loved him. Went on to say he wanted a puck moving D man (cant remember who), but garth wanted Reinhart. His point was that at the time the top three Metro teams all had the highest producing D men. He actually showed me an email that he sent to Garth showing the D men point totals and how it translated to them being top of the Metro. Was actually really cool.

They were bad when they lost 3 but trotz has them playing great d and in a system so far. Hell im starting to think the top two lines are both going to play well. I love in ot they didnt force things filppula regrouped several times almost like he knew possesion was important
- Upstate_isles

They've looked much better since Lou switched up the lines. I don't know what Barzal did to make Trotz punish him with Ladd, but I'm glad its over. Its a good threat anytime someone isn't skating hard:

Trotz: "How would you like to play with Ladd for the next few games?"
Player: "I'm sorry coach it'll never happen again!"

I would be shocked if Garth did not make the lineups and decide who played and who sat. I still think Cappy was a bad coach but he was not helped at all having a GM like Garth.

I always said JT thought only the peasants should play D. His lack of effort was obvious. Going to be interesting to see if Babcock is in a bit of trouble?

In his defense (sort of), Ladd wasn't noticeably bad tonight.

I agree. I thought Cappy was better than Doug. Doug really surprised me. I did not expect Al, but Doug played the game for a long time and was good and was an assistant for a number of years. It was like he had no clue about the game.

I doubt it. Doesn't he have like 3 Cups on his resume? I suspect Toronto is paying him big bucks with a couple of years left on his deal. Also, even with tonight's loss, the Leafs are still near the top of the Atlantic.

I thought he only won one with the Wings? You add a JT and the pressure goes way up.

You could be right. Was he there in Detroit, when they won the Cup in 2002?

Edit: Nope, you were right. Just one Cup with Detroit, and he left Anaheim before they won their Cup.

Can you imagine a Leafs practice?

Babcock: Hey, JT! Why aren't you covering anyone in the d-zone? Didn't they teach you anything about Defense on Long Island?

JT: What's Defense?

Babcock should not even waste his time trying to teach JT defense. I also heard talk Babcock was not very popular with Vets?

Well since Weight was also Assistant GM he out ranked Capuano so he didn't even need for Snow to put his 2c in. If Cappy had any self respect at all he would have stood up for himself and resigned.
