Ho-Sang's not saying anything in the interview that I haven't wondered about when I read about how prospects are used in B-port. A lot of times it seems like they're thrown into grinding and defensive roles...and I get that's to round out their games and I agree with doing that up to a point. But it also feels like scorers go ice cold there an awful lot...maybe from losing their confidence after not being able to play to their strengths at the pro level.

But...that's stuff you talk about to Thompson, or maybe management if you feel like you're not getting through to the coach. Not the press. It doesn't sound from the quotes like he was trying to be malicious, but that's exactly what it is when you bypass the team and go to the press with anything. Guy needs to shut up, keep his head down, and play hockey, and I'm not sure he's capable of doing that. The time to be a high-maintenance diva is...well...never...but if you're going to be one, it's after you've established yourself as a 30g/65pt player.

The frustration here is that this game is not all just scoring goals. If it was, every skilled forward would excel. He's either not getting the defensive side of the game or just not willing to do the job necessary. Either way, he's not making a case for himself.

I can't say I totally disagree with Josh about being told they see him as a top-6 player in NY but are playing him in the bottom-6 in BPT. Yeah, his off-puck play needs improvement for sure, but they're forcing him into a more defensive role. Not sure that's the best way to learn.

How long before Thompson gets the hook?? They are off to a slow start yet again and hopefully Lou has seen enough
- Vukota

He's gotta be ChrisLam's boy or something, only reason I can fathom that Lou didn't toss him in the trash immediately.

I think he has about as much talent as Barzal. The huge difference is Barzal is smart most of the time, very good hockey sense. And while Barzal has a chip on his shoulder and a ton of confidence he shows it the right way, on the ice. After watching JHS he has no concept of linemates or when to hold onto the puck, or make the simple play. Add on top of that, that he thinks he's smarter than everyone else, I don't see it working out.

Not sure how reliable his "sources" are

This from a source who watches Ho-Sang every game:

-Playing just as much as any forward in BPT

-Played with MDC and Bellows on numerous occasions already

-Does get PP time with MDC (leader in points), Bernier (leads in goals), St. Denis and Toews

Yeah, he's gotta be on borrowed time. He wasn't even good enough to be Doug Weight's assistant

No idea why Lou did not hire someone else before the season?

Yep, agreed. It also seems to me that Barzal works hard to learn and get better. Ho-Sang works hard to show the coaches he's working hard, but the lessons don't seem to click.

Missed your earlier post. It's not a good early sign if Chris will be taking over for Lou.

He's not even close to Barzal…..not even skating wise. He's more like former Ranger Draft studs, Jamie Lundmark, or Hugh Jessiman.

Which is why he, like many other "talented" NHL draft picks end up in Europe on a bigger sheet playing a different game. Ho Sangs agent better make a move soon, otherwise both he and his player will be paid pennies on the dollar.

Problem is he thinks he's better than Barzal and everyone else and knows the game better than his coaches. Shame is he has talent but just doesn't get it between the ears.

Had nothing to do with Chia UNTIL the Bruins picked three players in a row, NOT NAMED BARZAL. That's where the isles got lucky...
