This just shows you can't possibly be watching the games...
https://www.nhl.com/video...me/t-277350912/c-61316403

sibsa was terrible ... he has been decent to mediocre the last few games not going to complain for an emergency guy but no way should he take time away from Toews... Mayfield was even worse.. love those blind passes to the other team

- theguy

right so a cross check across the back and a lucky rebound right to Zibanjad stick makes him horrible. got it. what about rest of game?

i agree Toews should be in line but he can replace Mayfield, Pelech or Sbisa. Did you watch the whole game, Sbisa and Mayfield played really well. If their was odd man out of me Pelech didnt do much.

So how did Tom Hamhockle do? Was he the savior that none of us thought he would be?

Am I missing something? What did sbisa do wrong tonight. If you ask me pelech was the worst dman on the ice.

As for Komarov, moosekuckle and fillherallup they did what they brought into do. Grind.
While we gave up 3 goals anyone notice was only 24 shots against ?

Believe in Lou and trotz.
Each line has a function.

Btw did Nelson lose a faceoff tonight ?

Sbisa was awful... watch Rangers second goal. That was Sbisa that gave the puck away in the neutral zone. It was also him who decided to not tie the Ranger up and let him score. I was defending him yesterday... he was terrible.

Pulock is a top pairing D-man for sure. He was best player not named Barzal last night and not just b/c of the goals.

here are my thoughts on how everyone did last night.. what u think?

Sbisa - F ... He had to have cost himself a starting spot.
Kuhnhackl - F ... holy sht he stinks
Komarov - D .. not very immpressive in any way.
Pelech - D he stinks
Filppula - D I know he had 2 assists but he stunk
Johnston- D .. why?
Fritz- D .. please send him down

good-
Pulock A
Barzal A +
Beauvillier A

ok...
Lehner - C (his best game yet.. still just ok).
Casey C
Lee - B played well but not really a force
Eberle B- not bad.. not great either
Hickey- B he looked good to me... sorry.
Bailey- B - has not annoyed the sht out of me yet.
Nelson- C- He actually played ok...
Leddy- C did not do anything stupid..

Last point.. .Mayfield.- C he was at time awful and at times solid. I am trying to watch Mayfield with a clean slate. I have heard he works out like a psycho during the summer. I do think he gets faster every year.... I am hopeful he becomes a solid bottom 6 D-man for us over the likes of Sbisa and Pelech.

(The last time I heard so many people talk about a HUGE D-man whose workout ethic was insane was Chara. Chara couldn't skate to save his life when Isles drafted him. He obviously became a friggin beast. I am not saying Mayfield will ever get to that level but when you hear about a guy wearing a 50 pound vest running up stadium stairs all summer it's a good thing to hear. If he is that dedicated to being a NHL regular... He will be. No one thought Chara was good when we had him.. NO ONE. )

That doesn't even show the give away. It was Sbisa who passed it directly to them in the N- zone.

Yeah, I'm sorry...Mayfield and Sbisa were the two worst defenseman on the ice for either team. Pelech stinks too, no argument there.

Spooncockle sucks. They need to stop building the German national team.

That's too bad. I had high hopes for Cacksuckle.

At least we can have fun with his name.

Not only do I have to suffer through the simple fact that Tom Coolchuckle exists, but now that Hickey changed his number I have to consistently try to remember that #14 is not Hickey.

easy to make that mistake when you see 14 behind the net in the offensive zone.

let's see. sbisa wasn't on his man on the rangers second goal, he was in front of him, and then kicked the puck backwards and turned away from the rangers forward. was constantly turning over the puck and out of position.

sbisa and mayfield both looked like utter garbage. that said, the team is definitely already showing they have a system and not getting completely caught out of position in their own end. aside from sbisa.

you have two lefties on the second pairing and two righties on the third.

toews pulock
hickey boychuk
pelech leddy

this is what I think it's going to look like...just a hunch.

It seems the shots against are already coming down. Then again, it is preseason and all teams are playing their Johnstons, Gionta's and Seidenbergs.

At first I didn't blink, but when I saw it for like the 8th time I started to get confused. It's like all the guys with new numbers took ones that were used previously by Islanders. Gionta has Beau's old number, Beau has Strome's old number, Sbisa has Okposo's old number, Pelech is Hamonic now It's ridiculous.

I think they have to limit boychuk's minutes in order to try to keep him health longer, but leddy needs to play. I'd stick him with pelech or toews since it sounds like they're going to keep leddy on the right side.

now when trotz said he needed a lefty to play on the right side it tells me that mayfield isn't likely in the top 6 as that would give them three right handed d. My only worry is that the extra lefty taking his place would be toews (good) or sbisa (omg bad)
