Was hoping to see a dominant JHS tonight but I thought he was unnoticeable. Also wanted to see Toews show he belongs with the big club but he didn’t convince me tonight that’s for sure.

Bailey and Lee looked like they were going through the motions, that said I thought that they had a couple good shifts with Nelson.

Trotz won’t be happy with tonight’s squad imho.

Yep would have to agree.... thought Towes had his moments where he looked like he might be ok.... then disappeared .. won't write him off yet but was very disapointed in JHS... could be a product of his linemates he wasn't on that great of a line, but he couldnt seem to hold onto the puck.... Bailey was a disaster.. back to the old

I missed the first period, but in the last two periods it seemed like the entire team was unnoticeable, except maybe the goalie, Smith, who made a couple of decent saves. I did notice Pelech and Bailey each with a typical giveaway, but it was nice to see them in mid-season form.

Regarding JHS, I think (hope?) he is learning that he can't do it by himself. Trouble is he needs someone to pass to. Did he have any linemates tonight?

Can’t wrap my head around hoping we get 1st overall again. Dislike even discussing it.

Ha! I didn't see your post when I wrote mine, but it's funny to see some similarities.

Dal Colle is facking brutal. He might turn out to be one of the worst top 5 picks in NHL history. Not even joking

Total disappointment. Of course we couldn’t have had a problem with him and his agent. I wouldn’t have had as much of a problem trading him for a 4th liner😂

I just don’t think Ho Sang gets it. Maybe he’s just young and maybe he’s just immature. Hearing him talk about practice I.E Allen Iverson is prob the dumbest thing he could say. He’s under the microscope from his own doing, and he just can’t seem to get out of his own way.

He’s talking about practice not being as important as games in the same article coach Trotz is quoted as practice being important for systems and structure. 🤷🏻‍♂️

To me this kid has a lot of growing up to do.

Scott Scissons might have been worse had he not been 6th overall. Just another Garth Snow gem. Remember him talking about him being a good kid? Yeah great if you wanna Marry your daughter off. But we want good players snowjob...

Unfortunately that’s been the case for more of Snows first picks than not. I guess it is what it is. For me, I’ve basically disregarded 80% of what Snows brought in and someone like Dall Colle has been a bust for years now. I feel like his camp invites are literally pointless. He’s not an NHLer

I noted to Barry Trotz #Flyers had a fair number of their top NHL players in the lineup. So did we, Trotz replied, not an excuse.

One out of three times. Better odds of course but at 33% there’s certainly nothing written in stone. Besides that’s not Ottawa’s pick anymore which is (frank)ing hysterical 😂

It’ll be even more funny when they trade Duchene or he doesn’t resign.

Yep, thought the same. No one cares about the score in preseason...I just look to see who stands out in a good way, and there really wasn't anyone last night through almost all of the game (I guess career minor leaguer Chris Bourque looked OK?). First chance to impress the new boss, I thought maybe some of the vets with histories of questionable effort would have dialed it up a bit and attacked the net instead of safely peeling off toward the boards on every rush.

You just know a lot of these vets just have to test Barry. Wins or losses means nothing in preseason. The effort needs to be there though and especially when you have a new boss.

Too many guys developed bad habits under previous coaches. Coasting and avoiding physical contact won't cut it under Trotz. But it will take a long time (if ever) to unlearn those bad habits.....

All true John. it will take time and some players will not buy in and will need to be shipped out.
