This team may not make the playoffs if they don’t get their crap together yeah so don’t believe your dream😂
- Cptmjl

No worry about believing that dream. The first order of business for Lou is getting rid of Bailey. Bailey and Eberle need to go. This team has to change the mix in the top 6.

Did you see the way Bailey went after Voracek for that hit on Boychuk? Voracek was scared poopless that Bailey was gonna hit him with his purse.

Every 5 years Bailey shows a pulse. Next game he will let players skate right past him.

If these guy miss the playoffs it will be a disgrace. Hard to fault lou making no moves as he was somewhat handcuffed and it sounds like he tried but that hurt this team

Thought they played a solid 1st, the goal with 3 secs left was deflating. Not making a move for a better top 6 not named Panarin or Duchense was possible and a mistake. Bailey is a soft twat, Lee cant score, Nelson is a soft twat too. MDC does not belong with Barzal and Beauvilier (who is boarder line top 6). There was a 3 on 2 where MDC was carrying the puck up the middle with Barzal on the right just ahead of the play where Gudas got turned around. MDC kept the puck. Not even sure they got a shot off.

Isles need two way forwards. Bailey and Eberle do not put up enough points to bring nothing else to the game. I'm fine with MDC being on the 3rd line.

I watched a few minutes and that was enough for me. Shame to have that performance on Bill Torrey night.

We're seeing all too many of these performances of late. Isles only need 15 out of a possible 28 points in their remaining 14 games to reach 100 points on the season which would all, but guarantee, them a playoff spot. Problem is, the way they've been playing recently, I could see them falling well short of that.

I still think the Isles make the playoffs John but I cannot see this team doing much damage in the playoffs. As good a coach as Barry is, there are really issues with this roster and especially in the top 6. I think it was the right move not trading, Dobson, Wilde, Wahlstrom, and Sorokin for rentals. I think teams are trading players too late. I'd like to see more deals of players with a one or two left on their deals. Teams would get more value back on the players.

Considering that no one thought they’d even sniff a Wild Card this season, I should think that just making the dance is a win.

Yes the roster is flawed. Yes they’re playing like shit right now. But the prospect pipeline is full and talented, they have one of the best coaches in the league, they have more cap space than most, and (while flawed) the roster contains several excellent pieces to build a team around.

‘Tis not all doom and gloom gentlemen.

No question schwein making the playoffs would be a win. Isles are in great shape on D in terms of prospects. Forward prospects need a lot of work and especially at center. I think you really need to hit on your draft picks in a Cap world. We have seen how hard it is to improve in terms of trades.

Agreed they are likely to make the playoffs, but an epic collapse is not out of the question. A regulation win in their next game would go a long way toward ensuring the playoffs.

Team has to get back to playing solid defense. They do not have the offensive talent to get into high scoring games.

I don't think that's true. I thought they'd be hovering around 9th or 10th place. I think most on here thought the same. I don't remember anyone here saying they'd be a bottom 5 team.

I just hope they can turn this around. They are still in good shape with home ice if they can keep it.

I don't know that I specified a bottom 5 team, but I pretty much expected them to suck.

It's not doom and gloom, but I think the team's early success was a huge tease for us fans. Now we seem to be seeing a reversion to the mean.

Yep and I still stand by all of the things I said on that page.

The Komarov contract is an absolute abortion and Johnston (frank)ing blows signed for four years. With that said I’ll gladly say I was wrong about their performance for three months though I did cite Trotz as being a “wild card” in the teams overall success numerous times meaning the team could ultimately supersede expectations even with this roster. Overall though I thought this team through out the season would be what we are seeing now and did not see that earlier success happening.
They surprised for a few months but seemingly have regressed. Hopefully it’s a temporary set back which I’ve stated before but this team seems to have the same issues as Islander teams past. They fold under pressure. Let’s see if they can dig themselves out of it with a good coach.
Also I don’t agree with this whole well we’re doing better than expected so whatever mantra. The team got here them not maintaining that level of play is more alarming imo and it’s a defeatist approach within the team imo. Just as much as it’s a defeatist attitude by some fans. They raised the expectation level they should rise to the occasion “evaluation season” or not.

Hopefully they get everyone back healthy and figure it out.
They make the POs I think they will bring the game we saw against the Leafs.

Yeah we’ve seen them limp in before and then turn it on once in. Much rather they get their act together now and go in strong.😂
