Unfollowed that maggot years ago. He's absolutely terrible. Guy acts above everyone and tweets about how good the McRib is. Die.
- eichiefs9

That's right...he's always on about the McRib.

I think you also have to factor in that the isles as of late are getting timely goals from bottom 6 guys like Cizikas and Filpula. To me, Barzal has been nowhere, same with some other top 6 guys....
If Barzal wants to be the 1c, he's gotta be more visible on the scoresheet. Casey Cizikas the "4th line center" has more goals than Matt Barzal...

- kindlyrick

Agreed. The bottom 6 has been awesome but the top 6 has to start playing again it isn’t going to last. With that said other players pick up the slack sometimes on good teams hopefully it’s a temporary thing. We need Barzal to get hot now.

I like having Beau on his line b/c it compliments his speed... I would really love to see Eberle on the other wing. Let MDC play on 3rd line with Leo and Val.

33 goals from the #Isles 3C/4C. Among all the "didn't see that coming" things that have happened this season, that's near the top.

especially when you consider..

For comparison's sake, the #Isles have 38 goals from their 1C/2C.

I see you buy the industrial size since the Islander's drafted Sorokin.

Problem is that none of those three (Barzal, Beau, Ebs) likes playing D. They are the three worst forwards in terms of plus/minus.........all three are in minus territory with Barzal at a team worst -12. MDC has improved his defensive awareness which could benefit Barzal's line. Leo and Val already do a good job defensively.

Flip side of this is if they were putting up points their plus minus wouldn’t be so bad along with not giving up so many opportunities to opposing teams.

I would also like to see Eberle back on his wing more to get him going again potentially because Eberle is pretty much worthless at this point.

I do like MDC on that line. Gives the line defense and size and good work along the boards.

Those 3 guys can only put up points if they can get the puck out of their zone. Too often they were getting hemmed in by the other team's forecheck. I think that was why Barry broke up that line in the first place.

Well they had something for a while maybe it’s time to revisit it? Have to try something can’t keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. I like MDC and who knows maybe he’ll have success with Barzal but if it doesn’t work in a couple games I wouldn’t mind seeing Ebs thrown back on there for a game or two. Guy is as cold as can be. He’s just taking up a roster spot.

Yeah, I wouldn't hate it if they tried it again, but having 3 smallish, non-physical guys on the same line would concern me.

Speaking of smallish, non-physical guys, I actually liked Johnston's 2 games against Ottawa.

Meh. I get it he scored a goal but he’s just so slow and lumbering he’s out of position more often than not. Also made a few terrible passes that went the other way on us yesterday. Funny you mentioned him I focused on him quite a few times last night for the wrong reasons. Kuhnackl and him are interchangeable as far as I’m concerned I would much rather see Ho Sang and MDC on either side of Flipulla and Komarov on the 4th than those two I’m the line up imo.

Ladd needs to get hurt (like a groin pull in practice) and be out until Seattle

agreed.

Listen I don't care what they do with him (this year), but the best players need to play. Dal Colle brings more to this lineup than Ladd. From the outside looking in it really, really seems as if Ladd signed his last big ticket and is just mailing it in with the Isles until he retires. Guy doesn't ever appear to try.

Good to see MDC get a legit shot but I was also kind of hoping one of kuhnackl or Johnston would be jettisoned for Ho Sang in all honesty. Like to see both the kids playing with Flippula and Komarov on that fourth line until Martin and Clutterbuck are healthy.

Nope. It would be one thing if he was out there skating hard and trying to make things happen and it just isn’t working for him. Can’t say that about his game he’s just gliding around out there doing nothing more often than not.

lol.. my guess is he is getting bought out this summer.

Anyone notice Trotz yelling at Bailey last night. I have never seen him even slightly agitated before on bench, and when they had that very long delayed penalty in their D-zone he very aggressivly got Bailey's attention. Pointed to the corner where the puck sailed by him twice and If i read his lips right said that it was "fken Horrific".

it made me smile... if I am wrong on this please don't tell me.
