Still very hard to get any info from the #Isles end... what I’m hearing from the #CBJ side is that the price for Panarin is high. Thinking a deal would start with Beauvillier and a 1st

NHL rumors most likely a b.s sight but

Also I would do that

- Upstate_isles

Seems like a lot to give up for a rental.

Abso- lutely fking NOT!! You want to give up a 21 year old kid who scored 21 goals last year, Can absolutely fly and will just keep getting better... AND a first round pick for a guy who will probably play for us for 3 months?

when looking at Beau.. understand that first year he should have been sent down with Barzal for another year in juniors. Instead we had the same clown show that kept up Bailey and Nino keep Tito in the NHL b/c they could not send him to the AHL. Hopefully that is the LAST time this franchise ever does that to a prospect. It was a mistake.. get rid of that first year and picture this as his Sophmore slump. He is an elite prospect who has scored 34 goals and 22 assists in 126 games since that first year.

If panarin resigns yes see ya beau, panarin is a ppg player. Also if he resigns its a major step for this franchise and turning the page after tavares walked. Hall of fame coach, gm, new building good farm system talent on the team and a great atmosphere on long island. Get him here let the players show him all the great parts of long island and how close he is to the city.

Apparently we are all happy being a first round team when our d is elite this year and our goaltending. Jesus let's just stay mediocre forever

It's not about that. It's still a risk to give up a lot for a rental. I think the Isles have a good change of re-signing Panarin. It's still a risk to give up someone like Beau. I can give up a #1, Bailey, and even something not Dobson, Wilde, Wahlstrom, Sorokin, and Beau. As nice as Panarin would be, I do not think he is the final piece towards winning a Cup. This does not seem to be a Cup or bust type year.

I'm not sure if this is really the year to pursue rentals Upstate. I just don't see any club getting past Tampa or the Sharks.

Maybe the prudent thing to do is stand pat? Let the boys roll with their success and don't muddy up the room?

Even if you win the Stanley Cup? I mean that’s what it all about.
- nyisles7

Sure it is, but unless you have a crystal ball that says that one player is going to push the Isles over the hill to win the Cup then I don't think it'd be particularly deft asset management. I love this team and the way they're playing, but I don't think any single player makes them an instant Cup contender. Lots of playoff inexperience on this team.

Tampa would still be the favorite if the Isles get Panarin. Losing Beau is very risky especially when the Isles have some FA forwards. Beau could be a player the Isles plug in at Center. The Isles have Lou and Barry now so let's see if they can attract a top FA.

If you get him and he resigns then you're that much more attractive to other teams. Tampa is amazing they also need to go through Boston and Toronto first and those aren't easy series to win. Its wide open in the metro which is a much easier path to the ecf. He makes a run with isles and they have the money and location to offer what he will want and this team needs a star or a 1 2 combo with barzal. Its more than likely they dont get him anyhow but if they do we have a real gm and panarin is a fan of lou its said.

This team could be great on d for the next 5 years or revert next year. I believe the last time this team won their division was like 1988 this doesn't happen much with this organization. I've been wat thing this team blow for literally decades let's take a shot for once piss on it, in lou we trust

Also this (frank)ing organization let frans, okposo, Tavares all walk for 0, 0 assets total sham and now we have a real gm. If he does nothing I will trust he did the right thing but he is known to make a big splash too

It’s risky business. Panarin has been pretty adamant that he’s gonna test Free Agency.

Also it’s not Tampa that really scares me this year, it’s the Sharks. I can’t see any NHL team taking them to 7 games, Tampa included. They are freakishly good this year, even without Karlsson.

I cannot see the D falling back with Barry and remember Dobson and
Wilde are not even hear yet so it will only get better. Pulock and Toews will only get better. I'm Mr. Trade and it does not feel right to give up Beau for a Rental like Panarin or Duchene. This offseason is the time to bring in a top FA and maybe if needed you make the big trade next deadline.

Of the big 3 rentals, I’d rather the Islanders pick up Stone. The dude is a Selke worthy winger that also scores at a PPG pace. Imagine slotting him on Barzal’s right side.

He is going to test f.a. I mean tavares set the new standard I think for that. So this is an extended presentation for them and they have the cash to pay him what he wants. Let's not forget the owners want a splash and theres a new arena on the way. All things point to making some sort of move. Now even if he does go to f.a. the isles will be in on him stone and duchene and if they land stone or duchene and not panarin its essentially like they traded for them instead. Upgrade anyway you cut it
