Chief's article inspired me to look up Ron Stewart who played his last half a season with the 72-73 Isles after a pretty good career. I did not remember that he was involved with Terry Sawchuk's death.

I think they made some obscure trade awhile back for a pick and prospect or something

We traded you Patrick Flatley. I think it was for a bag of mostly unused pucks.

Not sure that he was traded. Could be that Milbury just didn't re-sign him, he became a free agent, and the Rangers signed him.

Have the two squads ever made a trade?
- Wildschwein

If I’m not wrong Schwein, Glen Healy who lead the Islanders in 92-93 to the conference finals was traded to the Rags in 94 and got his name on the Stanley Cup.
Pat Flatley who was good friends with Healy soon followed to the Rangers.

Pretty sure you are wrong (as usual). Maloney signed the great Ron Hextall, so he didn't bother to re-sign Healy. Don't believe he was traded....

Edit: Healy was lost to the expansion draft. Maloney failed to protect him.

He was indeed. He was Bizarro Josh Bailey........great at winning puck battles along the boards.

1.
cause the death of (a person, animal, or other living thing).

2. losing one on one battles for pucks, soft play (never takes the body), and generally half-hearted defensive effort

Looks legit to me.

you are mistaken on Nelson. Sure he talented. But unlike any other players on this team he has been about money. He held out of every contract as RFA. He is only playing till he gets a contract, and if you frustrated with Bailey, Nelson going to be a bag of poo when he get his contracts.

If you ask me their are tons of stronger talents to play #2 center for us. Nelson thinks he worth of 7M a year.

Bailey produces plenty for the 5m a year he paid. Sure you can hate him but isnt he #2 on team in points. And you cant say its b/c he has Tavares.

Tomorrow night going to be interesting with Beau demotion. Does Beau score from 3rd line and earn he way back up or does DaColle continue to be a late bloomer and steal his spot.

haha. have your fun but you know what i mean. what separates the elite from others is desire to win and give it their all.
Nelson and Bailey are full of talent but could really give two sh-ts if they win a game or not. At time you wonder if they know what the score is.

Barzal had a bad game last night and it showed. i had feeling he was going to lose the trash talking game with Marchand. Marchand got the best of him.

Yes same day claimed by Ducks and then traded to Rags. I can google too. I thought it was the Islanders that traded him but obviously he wasn’t. A couple claims and trades the same day removed.

Honestly I think every NHL player wants to do their best every game. They don’t go out there saying , meh I’m not going to bust my ass tonight.

Barzal and his whole line have been for the most part sub par since the all star game.

Can you? Then you must know that the day after the Ducks claimed him, he was claimed by Tampa in Phase 2 of the Draft. And it was Tampa, not the Ducks, who traded him to the Rags.
