Good for Kinkais. Hopefully Blackwood and Appleby Condi he to develop as well, this buys them some time.

Wedgewood really only has one impressive season on his resume and (while hurt for most of the season) wasn't good last year either. Kinkaid is the only in house option this year. At least until Appleby, Blackwood are ready (or Senn or Comier pan out).

I was hoping wedgewood would finally get his chance, I think he is the better of the two, and younger

Kind of surprised by this, I figured they would give Wedgewood a shot this year.

Plus with Buffalo trading for Scandella maybe they are a less likely destination for Shattenkirk.

I don't get why we are buying Cammalleri out. Don't get me wrong, not a fan (and wasn't a fan of the huge contract that he signed), but we aren't a cap team. We were the 3rd lowest team, in terms of cap, with Cam AND Clowe on the roster...

I just don't see why it is needed. I would've been a bigger fan of trading him with 50% salary for a bag of pucks than this... but I guess no one was offering the bag of pucks for him

I guess we need to get a guy to play RW for us now

I just read that Ray has been trying to trade him for a year with no takers.

I think Cammallerri was more about clearing up roster space for young guys than about cap. Maybe #13 was a small consideration...

Even still, why extend the cap hit if we didn't need the room?

kind of in shock about this one. He had no trade value? Amazing, all of Lou's last signings were horrible. Onto bigger and better things.

Thanks Cammy for the service!

Would've probably kept Cammy, but I definitely don't mind. Thank Christ DSP is off the team.

Factoring in LTIR, that's $32 million in cap space. Assuming $5 million or so for house cleaning, that's a ton of money.

Once Clowe is on LTIR I believe we have over $30 Million in cap space? Just offer Kovy way too much money for three years and keep him here. Why not.

I now expect to see a lot of McLeod, Hischier and Q going forward.

The hope is those three + Zacha are the core moving forward. Unfortunately none of them are sure things yet.

Open a roster spot and get rid of a disgruntled veteran. He had two very good years here, but it's clear the injuries were starting to add up.

I just hope they don't go crazy in UFA outside of Shattenkirk.

Shero will likely use the cap space to aquire players via trades rather than UFA if I had to guess.

I'm still trying to come to terms that we'll even try to do that
