I think you wait to call up Gravel once you know the severity of McNabb. If hes long term. Bring him in.

Why can't Brown get a 2 to 4 month injury?

upside of this trend is if all the players we want to see out of the line up get injured, maybe they will call up the people we want to see in the line up...

Carter is looking real bad by the way... King too... last 2 games were unwatchable except for Budaj's performances

The Kings deserve to lose if they bring back Scuderi for the 3rd time. He's too slow and he should take a coaching role along with Greene.

How do you not have Scuderi as an option in the poll?

That would've gone against the narrative that Scuderi was the wrong choice and that anyone would've been better than him, especially if he would've won the poll.

how can you even consider he's a truly viable option? he was horrible upon his return last year, horrible in the preseason (to sutter's comments), and hasn't played at all since his demotion. so now suddenly he's going to find his game from four years ago as a 20 min per game player?

might as well set off the nuke and pair him with greene on the 3rd pairing.

somehow there must be a roster move that necessitates this...otherwise it makes zero sense.

Its really to buy time to see if McNabb is long term. They can recall scuds and it has zero effect on Ontario.

ontario is there for the benefit of the kings, not the other way around. if gravel was as good as he looked in the preseason, why not give him a cup of coffee? you already know what scuderi can (or really, can't) do at this point.

Not narrative attempt. Just oversight on my part. Apologies

This vet-love is going to sink the Kings even lower than they currently sit. Shut out in back2back and never really looked dangerous. I found myself flipping to other games just to see some of my FL players play... sad

I don't understand this move. It is very early in the season so I don't get how bringing in Gravel would be the wrong move or hurt the Kings in any way. Scuderi obviously doesn't want to play since he barely showed up to the Reign and hasn't even played a game with them. Greene has looked horrible this season and is only playing due to an injury, so why not see what the kid has instead of 2 slow aging dmen?

the sad reality is none of us would be that shocked if they really did call up scuder and sutter put him in the lineup to skate 20 min again...

All that I meant is that you seemingly wanted readers to share your frustration with the decision (not that I necessarily blame you). After all, you hadn't posted about the Kings in 9 days and this little thing is what got you to break your silence, which is kind of funny, you have to admit.

32? Is that Purcell or did you mean McNabb (3)?

Edit: Oh, duh... it's Quick. I was imagining a skater and wasn't even thinking about goaltenders. Hah. I need more coffee...

Quick is already on LTIR and has been for a while, hence the reason for the Scuderi call up. If no one was on LTIR, then the Scuderi move would have been pointless.

The Kings aren't currently using any of the LTIR space, so putting Gaborik on LTIR wouldn't do any good. They would have to take on an additional $6.7M in replacement contracts before having Gaborik on LTIR would have any cap implications at all. Since Gaborik is expected to return before Quick, it is unlikely that we'll see #12 on LTIR unless a significant trade is made.

If Gaborik suffers a setback and Quick returns to the lineup before he does, then Gaborik will likely be put on LTIR at that time.

Unfortunately I have things going on in my life at the moment that are preventing me from writing about the Kings to the fullest efforts deserved. I apologize.
