So where does taking Tkachuck leave Shink and Klimchuck? Hoping BT can make a couple trades with these guys that are getting burried.

Also Flames are still a couple players short on the top 6. I would not mind bringing Huds back. After some thiught i think it would be better to have some cap space to burn rather than sign one of Okposo/Lucic/Backes. I think there will be some major deals to be had due to expansion.

I'm most high on Adam Fox, reminds me a lot of Erik Karlsson, and maybe Linus Lindstrom, I think he could be an NHLer with some added strength and size.

And that Eetu Tuulola guy, who knows, a lot of talent has been coming out of Finland these days.

Also,
Wideman for Yak pls

Fits the bill for everything the Oilers are looking for. RHD, 1 year removed from a 56 pt season, and veteran presence.

You forgot to mention a defensive liability , the Oil have plenty of those, dip poop.

Still less of a defensive liability anyone on the Oilers roster not named Sekera and Klefbom. Also Klefbom has never scored more than 20 pts in his career, and Sekera has scored more than 30 pts once in his 11 year NHL career.

It's a good deal for both teams whether you like it or not. Too bad Wideman has his NMC

In stark contrast. Wideman has 6 30+ pt seasons. Plus, if you're all about defensive liabilities, PK is about as defensively sound as Wideman is.

Canucks wanted PLD at 5. CBJ changed the outcome of picks 3-6. Had to go with plan B here. Desperately needed a dman in the system like Juolevi. Already have Virtanen, Boeser, Baertschi, Hansen. Worked out perfect for Calgary. Because of your 2nds last year (Kylington - Andersson) a Winger was a more pressing need. Truculence

Even when Oilers lose lottery, they still end up with one of the "Big 3"

No, Wideman is an overpaid offensive defenseman on the back 9 of his career. We don't want or need him. You signed him, you deal with him. Mail your bag of poop to someone else's door.

Shouldn't throw stones when you live in a house of glass... RNH, Ference, Pouliot, Fayne...

Not saying Wideman will help the Oilers, but you have a lot of deals on that team that I bet management wishes they could take back... One more year of Wideman isn't the end of the world here, I would honestly rather hang onto him that pickup Yakupov. Change of scenery may help him, but he might also just be the Russian that can't hack it in the NHL

I do think wideman would make sense as a secondary option for the back end, but I think they wait till they find that main piece an go from there. Also Wideman would have to waive his NTC so we could get him an for good so we dont have to keep him for the protected list.

So hard to find good Dmen. Shattenkirk cost scares me. Probably look good in Oil town. But how much do you give up to get? Wideman just doesn't get much love around the NHL (especially officials). Can be a very productive player. Somehow Calgary needs him off the books.

My post was kinda boring. But I'll hit submit anyway.

He's a UFA next July so you don't have to protect players with NMC expiring July 1.

When is the timeline for Chia to male a trade for a Dman? Not sure I would be happy going into preseason (or any season) with your D. He has to do something here pretty quick.

Edit: If he does not make a move I won't complain. Actually I will troll relentlessly!

And I wouldn't blame ya. As good as JP is gonna be, I would be happier with an NHL D man. As for a realistic timeline? I think we might see some action on the 29th or 30th, or maybe on the 5th after the big na,es are gone. At the latest I would hope before that poopty WC of Hockey tourney.

I think quite honestly, I won't watch the Oilers this year until they make a major upgrade on D.

Demers is not an upgrade, if you can smell my farts.
