0-0 with an ugly deflection off a skate goal to end it in overtime?

More seriously, Canes are getting chances and shots, and seem due for a goal-scoring outburst. It's a wild hunch based very little on recent Canes history, but I think Canes win big.

No way I'll attempt a prediction for this one. At different points in the game against the Wild, the Canes played inspired and aggressive hockey and appeared to be on the brink of breaking out of their goal scoring funk. It didn't happen, but they're close. The Flyers are having the same trouble, albeit with a more offensively talented team but they seem actually further from an offensive breakthrough than do the Canes. I'm guessing the Flyers will come out hard and get physical - and potentially over aggressive - which may work to the Canes favor if they can take advantage of the defensive breakdowns that are sure to happen. It's strange, two lackluster teams going nowhere and yet I believe this game has the potential to be an explosive and exciting tilt. Not sure who will end up on top, but it should be a good one. The last Canes/Flyers game I attended at the RBC the Flyers played horribly and I turned to my wife and said that's the kind of game that gets coaches fired. Laviolette was gone the next day. More likely players heads will roll this time but I wouldn't be surprised to see the loser start to make personnel changes sooner than later. Ok, I'll take a shot....Canes 6 Flyers 3. Two fights, Mason pulled in first period.
