He did not, however, seem to be all that interested in turning his career around, based on his body language and slow answers.

You got that out of an interview you watched?

Come on.

I got the same feeling Pete, reported it in the other blog earlier today. Not impressed at all.

Semin

Let's say that Markov is very chatty and someone who masters the English language in comparison.

Semin seems awkward in front of the camera, whether intimidated by all the media or still having a problem fully expressing himself in English.

Regardless of what he has said / will say, I will judge him based on what we see on the ice. To make assumptions on what interpretations that might be gleamed from an interview seems rather ridiculous.

no, but with his history, a little bit of drive and good will wouldn't hurt.
do you want to improve your game over last year and prove to the league or to you that you're better than that? meh... i don't know.... i'm not sure.....

He looked really nervous.

Anyway, it's going to be the first time in his career he's on the spot. There is two ways he can react to it, either it lights a fire under his ass, or he crumbles under the pressure of it all. As fans we should expect the latter, but you never know.

It wasn't a risky gamble to start with, so let's see how it goes.

Oh sure, low risk, but very low expectations too imo.
anyway it's a temporary solution, because either he does great, and then they won't give him a big contract, and rightfully so, or he sucks and he's gone. so either way I don't expect him to be at the next golf tournment.
but for 1 year, 1M, the time kids get some experience in the ahl, why not.

If he scores one goal on the pp, I'll be happy for the whole year..
