The first half was about family and death and all that, then it's like he flipped a switch and it was 90% Richards the second half. Very varied in topic, but still mostly Richard stuff.

Kinda spoilery because I think he's touring to polish his new hour special until it's ready to be filmed but this was a highlight:

there's a point where he says something about sucking a Richard and if you're not sure whether or not you wanna suck one you should just do it even if it's just for 20 seconds, to see if you like it. then he's like well maybe not 20 seconds because this is what 20 seconds is, then he puts the mic in his mouth and stares at his watch for 20 seconds. it's a very long time. and it's funny.

it's underwhelming when written out, but anyway. very solid show, especially once he trims like 15 minutes from it in the next few months

no. he's hosting a show called midnight surprise, i think he's hosting 4-5 nights in a row, so he does 10-12 minutes off the top. Guessing he gets some local comics to write for him. like the name says, it's a surprise show. last year Louis showed up and did like 30 minutes. then the next night, Chapelle showed up and did 2 hours, smoking cigarettes on stage the whole time. i didn't see it but apparently it was amazing

JFL uses so many venues, there's only 2 real year round stand up venues in montreal.
the midnight surprise show is in a small sketch/improv theater and it's gotta be really cool to see big names in that place because it's tiny



there's a tiny upstairs section too. i think it's maybe 100 people capacity

a JFL gala is usually a big name host (usually a comedian) and they have 7-8 big acts doing 10 minute sets. i think when they have guys like PK they also have sketches and stuff. i'm guessing he's writing Subban's lines, maybe some sketches if they have any
