Tampa Bay is over the salary cap as it is so St. Louis is going
to have to take another contract back to make it happen with that scenario.

The blues will still have one of the top teams during the regular season but they're going to need better goaltending if they want to make a serious run in the playoffs.

Nope, goaltending is fine, Blues could have Patrick Roy in his prime and they still wouldnt win in the playoffs. Fun fact, the blues have never one a playoff game in which they have not scored any goals.

Their goaltending has not been fine at all.. .903 and .904 save percentages in their past two playoff appearances.. not going to win any cups with that kind of goaltending

if the Blues are looking at Drouin one would think they have anther deal or the same deal where they are interested in moving either steen or schwartz and i doubt it would be schwartz.

i do not see it happening.

Whats your point? The sharks were not even close to a contender in 11-12..

Save Percentage isnt a great indicator of success, its more an indication of a teams defensive system than anything else. Allen was fine, also his save percentage was amazing prior to the last two games, games that should not have been played had the blues scored a friggin goal or two early in the series.

Goals against average is a better indicator of team defense than save percentage. I'm not saying goaltending was the only issue, their offense needed to finish better as well. But in those last 2 games Allen didnt give St. Louis a chance to win at all and was repeatedly giving up weak goals. Save percentage was a very good indicator of how his performance last playoffs was, not good enough

Not in the slightest. Stastny was perhaps the player affected the most by the line-juggling last season. If he is given a proper role on the team, that of a 1/2 line play-making center, with more responsibilities, I think those who say they regret picking him up will come around.

I know the Blues have other players that are becoming a new core, but there's no reason a player like Stastny, especially being a hometown guy, shouldn't be a major factor in tweaking this team.

our goaltending situation is completely effed, all-star Brian Elliott getting snubbed out of a playoff starting spot two years in a row. Blues goaltending look completely pathetic in playoffs, aside from our inability to score. Unfortunately, yet again, changes need to be made...but where do the Blues even begin? Cannot believe Elliott hasn't demanded a trade after all this.

Pretty solid looking forward lines. Brodziak and Brouwer were nice depth additions.

How many games of that Minnesota series did you expect Jake to win?

He had ZERO help

did he struggle yes but dont make it out that he was terrible on his own

Ells is an average goaltender who excels in the blues system and you want to know the result if Ells was in net vs the Wild 4-2 series loss

Elliot is a career backup that for some reason Doug Armstrong loves. Trading Bishop because the Blues had Elliot was the worst move hes made since hes been here. Hes incredibly streaky and he folds under pressure of being a #1. Hes had a long career in which he has proven this over and over.

Stastny's early shoulder injury really set him back. As others have said, his linemates weren't exactly top notch all year. As he got health and consistently was paired with Jaskin, his play improved.

Jam

Could you see a top line of 17-26-23?

I think Jaskin is better on the left but I could be wrong
