It's gotten to the point where blogging about Mike is like beating a dead horse with its own shoe (ahem).

Okay, that's pretty damn funny.

So the bruins could have had Vinny and Boyle and instead they took Goc, Primeau and a decade of as$ kicking....

For future reference you can just post "Milbury wrong." and just leave it at that.

No further explanation is required. We all know that to be true regardless of whatever it is he is spouting off about.

Good blog anyway.

I can't stand Milbury in any way, shape or form. Why anyone continues to put a mic in front of him baffles me. I don't care to hear a single solitary word that clown has to say.

That said, he was obviously trying to be funny with regard to hurting Cory Perry. To be offended by anything Milbury says, much less this, is to take him seriously. Can't bring myself to do that.

Do you agree with him on what he said about the Stoner play? Would you have called him for 2 penalties on that play?

It is obvious that Mike wants to be the American version of Don Cherry

- That describes him perfectly.

You mean to tell me the idiot that went into the stands during a game and then went on to fail as a GM is also the worst analyst on all of TV?

bob mackenzie's one liner to milbury on air was still the funniest thing I think I've ever seen hockey related.

Milbury (speaking about Shanahan getting the leaf's president job) "I wish I could have skipped coach and gm to become president"

Bob Mackenzie: "so do the Islanders"

Milbury is dumbest man ever behind a mic. Why he gets paid is a mystery to everybody who cares about hockey.

Dan Boyle is only ok offensively and stinks while defending.

Boyle is pretty damn good offensively. Look at his career playoff numbers. They speak for themselves.

Journalistically this doesn't tell the whole story. Mr. Milbury actually went on to say that Corey Perry is also the kind of guy he would like to have on his team. It's sort of disturbing watching grown men who make up organizations whine about wanting an apology over something that was obviously said in jest. I hope he doesn't apologize to the politically correct whiners who have no sense of humor.

I nearly did a spit-take.

It looks like you opted for the hot-take.

Milbury may be a loud-mouth but he was obviously not "advocating for deliberately trying to inflict permanent injury on a player." He was engaging in hyperbole to show how frustrating Perry is to the opposition. Besides the fact that he says in the next breath that he would want Perry on his own team, Milbury has been outspoken about banning fighting. Do you really think the guy advocating the elimination of fighting--in the name of player safety--would seriously advocate the deliberate injury of a player? His joke may have been in bad taste, but it's not nearly as bad as suggesting he meant it.

Milbury must have run out of 14 y/o children to threaten.

The guy is a poor representative for the sport. He was the worst GM in history, a middling to poor coach and an average player, as a person, on air and what I've seen reported outside of the game, he's even worse. Why he still has a job, I do not understand.
