Since I was bragging about the game being released (in early access, it will continue to be developed), I started it up with a roster pack that reflects what the CURRENT roster looks like (reflects all of the Trade Deadline moves and such).

I'll use this thread to post updates periodically, maybe post updates either twice per in-game month or longer, depends how the stats play out and if I find them notable or not after such short periods.

I figure this can help keep out some of the clutter in the main thread, though I'll likely post links there.

With that said, pre-season is over - went 0-5-1 with a scoring total of 13-33

Here is a screenshot of what the game predicts the team will do in the season:

I find that placement hard to believe...but we'll see it unfold!

Here are the lines I will be starting the season with (all "Coach recommended", which I'll take with a grain of salt since it's Nolan...).

Yes, I picked up Paille. The Bruins put him on waivers!

I also picked up Tim Kennedy who was on waivers too. Anyone who remembers back far enough, I was a big Kennedy fan, so I had to get him. He was immediately waived and sent to Rochester, FWIW

Game 1 is in the books (don't worry, this won't get updated every game).

In front of a paid attendance of 18,688, Buffalo fell to the Bluejackets 4-2.

Key "ratings" of Sabres for the game (on a 10-point scale)

Lindback: 7 (37 saves on 41 shots)
Weber: 5
McCabe 8 (1A)
Bogosian: 6
Zadorov: 6
Strachan: 7 (1A)
Moulson: 6
Foligno: 8 (2A)
Ennis: 8 (1G)
Girgs + Grigs: Each 6
Varone: 7 (1G)

Shots were 41-20. Sounds realistic!

People weren't kidding when they mentioned a lack of RW depth in Buffalo and the pipeline.. Here's a screenshot of Rochester:

Those two RWs at the bottom are fill-ins the game assigns when you need players.

Random notes

First Victory:

3-2 win at home over Florida on 10/17/14 (5th game of the season)
Also 1st time I outshout opponent (30-21) - all prior games were nearly 1:2 shot ratio

Loser point the very next day vs Boston. Boston went 0-9 on the PP, game was 1-1 in regulation. Outshot 40-25

Win over LA on 10/23 makes a 2-1-1 record in a 4 game span. LA game featured a Gionta hat-trick (last was an empty net goal)

Made inquiry on trading for Brian Flynn, then 2 days later (after the request was for the rights to Compher and a 4th) he was put on waivers. Waiver successful, Flynn back in Blue and Gold.

Enroth signed a Free Agent contract with the Flyers on 10/24/14 for 3 years at almost 2.3M per

4-2 win against San Jose in game following W over LA...this is not trending well. (Outshot 36-21)

Didn't last long, but I lost Flynn to Colorado after I tried to move him to Rochester

Traded Hodgson away for Gabriel Bourque and Joe Piskula from Nashville

May be some slight variations on stats as my game crashed and I was reverted back to 10/31, so whatever the difference was for that game prior and this new one - I'm not sure what they will be, though I do know I was shutout on 10/31 in the info that I posted above.

EDIT: Shouldn't be much, scored 3 goals in the re-played 10/31 game. Girgs and Grigs both with single assist games, Lindback with a 5 GA game. Now to save it here...

A few more notes about November 2014:

Mike Weber traded to Boston for a 3rd and 6th

9 game losing streak broken by a win vs. Toronto - that's how tanking should be done!

Traded Chad Johnson to the Islanders for Anders Lee

OK...this was crazy, but Zadorov just scored a goal from HIS goal line.

If I had any good way to record it and post, I would. I recorded my screen using my phone, but that just looks kinda bad - plus I don't know where to upload it. But it is funny as hell

I can't recommend it enough. Been playing it for over a decade through various iterations and it's always been great.

If you get it and need help with getting real rosters, let me know.

I got it. Got the rosters set as well. Got the league/team started and saved. I'll give it a shot after lunch.

Thanks man

I know! So frustrating. I'm going to start picking up just anyone off of waivers and throw guys down in Rochester that can go without waivers
