Funny but Duchene is the most tradeable guy they have. I would trade him if someone is giving the farm for him and if ROR signs long term.

Sakic just said he won't acquire rentals, it's also quoted in this blog.

Either way, no way on that deal.

They don't move anyone until 1 of the kids emerges as a consistent top flight offensive talent. Dutch, MacK, Landy, and ROR should all be long term Avs. No need to give up on any of them bc of panic moves of feeling pressure to make the playoffs this year or next year.

Teams close, just need to start restocking the farm and make smart depth trades and signings this summer

We need more than depth and a farm, we need 4 new defensemen.

I assume we will have a new look D Core next season. It just all depends on how Roy and Sakic assess the garbage pail kids in Guenin, Holden, Stuart. If they move 1 or 2 of them, that means they are serious about rebuilding the Core

A crack at a UFA Dman (I'm hoping sekera) and an open spot in the Top 4 for either a prospect or trade target. Its not crazy to think its coming.

You can see that's what they want to do. Their two drafts under Roy have me more excited than the past four under Pracey. Geertsen, Kyle Wood, Bigras, Butcher, Bleackley, Magyar all ranger from interesting to "I can't wait to see this guy."

Then there's the signings of Henley, Everberg, Rendulic and Roman Will to make up for depth where Pracey failed.

I'm hoping the Avs find a way to get Stoll and Sekera on this team. Avs need to make Stuart a bottom pair dman, Get Sekera to play with EJ.

Not sure who plays with Barrie though. He needs a Hejda-type guy.

I'd be okay keeping Guenin as a 7. He'd be good to fill in from time to time.

I agree, just not sure the Avs brass do.

Is it just me, or did Barrie look super impressive last night? He blew me away, looked like the best player on the ice.

yeah I am ok with Guenin being as a 6-7...as long as we have proper depth to get him away from Barrie

He has been the most fun player to watch. There are times, with the confidence he has going, he looks like Bobby Orr. I love watching him.

Barrie certainly does carry him but at least he knows his role. At this point, I'd rather have him than Stuart in my lineup.

Avs placed Carey on waivers.

I'm questioning my faith in this teams management.

I like the look of that line up. I would think Winchester as the 4th line RW makes sense since they have him under contract. Unless the put him in the minors next season to get his game back together. Also Bordy being healthy will push cliche away from this team.

wiercioch from the Sens could be a quick fix if the Sens are trying to dump him and his 2.2m cap hit. The Sens are cheap, so they might want a bargain in Holden haha. I would like to see Elliott give a real chance to succeed. So if our depth going into next season was this, I would like our chances

as sad as that statement is, I would too.
Matt Carle is a guy I wonder if can be had if the Lightning are in Cap issues soon. He would be a good partner for Barrie

They are trying to sneak him back down. If they waited to do it teams would probably be more inclined to snag him if this was after the deadline. Teams are trying to shed salary not add to it.

But I bet you with Claim Rene Bourque, especially if they plan to move a guy like Talbot out.

Not a perfect fix for the Top 4 but if they are going to move Assets, I think he could be worth it if the price tag is reasonable. Even though I would like to take a crack at Wiercioch a lower cost instead.

Provorov is who I hope they draft, and with how the season is going right now, they should have a realistic crack at him...He would instantly be on this team based on how good the kid is

Carle will quickly become a 5/6 dman soon, but I suppose he could improve your 2nd pairing in the short-term.
Provorov would be a great pick up for the Avs, unfortunately

3 more years on the contract stinks bc he would be tying up way too much cap space for what he would bring to the table by the end of it, but like you said he would probably improve the Top 4 short term so send some feelers out there if they are trying to pull off a cap dump.

Provorov or whatever D pick this year and Bigras slated in the next season or 2 would be huge for the team, just need to get rid of some garbage contracts first to make room for them
