Nice win last night. I've always like Nolan's physical play, but when you can get him scoring as well, he puts so much pressure on whoever plays against him and his line.
The fourth line really forechecked well and even caused a few icing's against a good Tampa Bay team. I also thought Brown played great, but has had really bad luck lately, he's due for some goals soon. Despite all that, MVP: Quick. IMO. GKG!!!

How nice was that Nolan goal though, really. Kid shows flashes of skill sometimes. Too few and far between IMO but they are there.

Despite the goal, Kopi had a rough night with the puck last night. I can't recall seeing him lose it or have it poked of his stick or just straight mishandle so many times. But I'll take the win and many more please!

With him, I'm always more concerned with his acceleration, and that move to beat Hedman on the outside in the 2nd showed he's just fine.

Excellent write up again Jason, I am probably shooting real high here but I would say the kings need to rip 20 of the last 26 games to be firmly planted in the play offs, and maybe 15 just to slip in. One thing is for sure though, it will be a lot tougher to do if some of the teams in front stay hot.

To me the balance in the scoring is more a result of the system and the urgency coming together than it is a cause for the winning. Yes it correlates, of course, but its a microcosm of the cycle, and the forecheck, and perhaps most importantly - the effort that wasn't there until a couple weeks ago. Seems like with this team the ruts are contagious and so are the hot streaks; and when they get goin look out, NHL (too bad its almost un-watchable before that point). This team is quite the enigma.

I do know this: paying for the NHL tv package for the full season is overrated with this team. It's a long frustrating regular season til the engines get revved up and then its worth every penny... too bad you're already in for 150 bucks at that point.

Based on the last three years, its still gotta be worth every penny. My liver damage during the playoffs is the only thing that would negate any value of paying to watch this team.

The Kings have always been a bit of an enigma to me. So many futile years filled with agonizing losses and continually falling short of the playoffs while never being quite bad enough to receive the top pick in the draft ( looking at you Edmonton ). Now we've become one of the more dominant teams the NHL has seen the last few decades once the playoffs roll around. and yet the one constant that remains from years past is our inability to carry that success over into the 82 game regular season. when was the last time we won the division? Am I going to have to wikipedia this? I've followed the Kings since 2003 and can't remember us ever winning the division in that timeframe. of course, at the end of the day Id be willing to take mediocre regular seasons for the rest of eternity so long as we continue to qualify and do what we've done the last 3 years in the playoffs. as things stand right now, I sense the Kings have turned things around and will continue to make a strong push from here on out. my only concern on this team ( and I realize the vast majority of kings fans would disagree with me here ) is the play of Jonathan Quick. He's currently at a 910 sv percentage. That's a spectacularly average save percentage for an NHL goalie. Not bad at all, but certainly not elite. I'm of the belief that this team goes as far as Quick takes them. He's rarely been a great regular season goalie. Thankfully for us, he tends to save his 'beast mode' for the playoffs. Here's to hoping he's able to get us there first.

I agree. Some how Quick and the rest of the team wake up for the playoffs. Is this for real or is it the Kings going in with momentum at the right time luckily for the last three/four years?. One thing for sure is this team is extraordinary and the lows make the highs amazing and unbelievable. If the Kings go deep this year you gotta say this team only really enjoys hockey during the playoffs and apparently really dislikes the road getting there.

i think the only one they've ever won was a tom webster led team in the 90's...

Exactly. and like I was saying previously, as long as they continue to win games when they actually matter, you'll never hear me complaining. They can be the 8th seed and qualify on the very last day of the season due to the opponent scoring 3 own goals and I couldn't care less. Just get there and continue to be clutch when you have to be. We're basically the opposite of the sharks/ducks. they can both take turns passing off the division title for the next 100 years. because at the end of the day, who cares? it's all about the playoffs and championships.

I just looked it up. And you are correct my friend. 1990-91 was their last and only division title.
