I kind of like Bennett on the third line. If they can produce at a decent pace it gives us depth we haven't had in a long time. I agree we need another top 6 winger and I pray JR is working day in and out on it.

Bennett was fantastic last night

Agreed. I know our third line has been great, but obviously Bennet can contribute a lot to our top 6 if he can stay healthy. For me last game was the perfect opportunity to see Bennet with Crosby.

In fact, Jason tweeted yesterday an article about Beau and his confidence. Saying what could be better for bolstering a young players confidence than playing with sid?

Our third line is great right now but Bennet > Spaling and Comeau and he should be playing with crosby or malkin more often...

I hope he gets a look there soon. He deserves it.

Fleury haters haven't seen him play much this season, me thinks.

I agree with this article 100% but the only thing I would say slightly differently is that I would put 19 with 71, but at that point, does it really matter?

I'd like to see BB in the top 6, but there is really no rush at this point. Maybe it's me, but it seems like Hornqvist and Malkin don't have a lot of chemistry. Hornqvist with Sid was much more menacing IMO.

Bottom line... I don't care where he plays.......just that he plays.

Big only there Ryan. If he can put the injuries behind him great.. Other wise he is the pens martin havlat. I think penciling him in the third is strategically better cause if/when he gets hurt pens lose a good bottom guy.

Absolutely Peca. Was MAF's name mentioned on RW's article? If not, he deserves some recognition even though he doesn't like the guy much.

Edit: He actually wrote a small note about him - "The third period had a lot of score effects in play and Marc-Andre Fleury turned all chances aside for his first career shutout in Montreal and fourth of the young season."

I refuse to make any claims about BB until he can play 40 games in a row without breaking.

He's had games like this in the past then he disappears for a few.

I need to see more consistency when he does suit up.

Talent is there no question.

I still think Horny is the perfect line mate for 87. I have a feeling he ends up there long term.

I mean its unreal though. Kid has one good game and gets a whole blog basically. Fleury gets his 4th shutout and is a footnote.

As Bradlee3 put on the last article: "Too funny, Fluery gets the SO and is the THIRD star of the game , i don't care and I'm sure he doesn't but it's just comical."

In all fairness which one is more rare? Besides, MAF didn't exactly have to steal that game, the guys in front of him blocked a TON of shots. I'm not sure MAF even broke a sweat until the 3rd.

Certainly a good game by MAF, but BB was the story last night.

Seems like more of the "it is never Fleury til it is". First Pens goalie in history to post 4 shutouts in a 9 game span.

Montreal had 6 PP opportunities last night and didn't score any goals. The defense was great but MAF was positionally sound.

It's the regular season. That has never been the question for fleury. The reason he isn't getting a blog is because this song and dance has to last into june.

Now the biggest question outside of Fleury in the playoffs has been the lack of top 6 talent in pittsburgh and our never ending quest to find it. It is now playing on our third line and it is young and cheap.

The Pens have a golden opportunity here to establish him as a top six winger with either Sid or Geno and that will help solve a ton of problems.

If Beau can become an everyday top 6, then those prospect for prospect moves like Dumo for Jurco or Rattie are perfect depth moves without hurting the draft/payroll

I'm not knocking MAF, I've been one of his biggest supporters on this site even through all the rough times. I've always said that the team in front of him is a large part of his problem. They've been flat out awful defensively for years.

This year it's the exact opposite. They're significantly better defensively under this coach and I'm not surprised at all that MAF looks legit again.

Still think the story was BB last night. Montreal was awful last night offensively.

I've never been off the Bennett bandwagon. He had a string of bad luck, but he's money now that he's not being held back by Bylsma.
