that Louis Jean/Michel Bergeron segment sure was something.

love how they tried to start poop by showing the gionta/gorges pic and Bergeron told him to stfu and gtfo with that.

very well prepared segment.

I'd like to see Sekac with either the DD line or on Pleks line, he could be the missing E.Cole from that line.

I didn't mind Parenteau, looks pretty slow but he looks like he understands what to do with the puck. Maybe he can give Eller some pointers.

I like the lines as is now. Paranteau seams to be a nice fit with DD and Max. If Sekac goes up to the Pleks line, you probably bump Gallagher to the 3rd line. In the little we have seen from Sekac, he is very good along the boards so this could give the line a good cycle option down low.

As the season goes on, there will be guys bumped up and down so I'm sure we will see Sekac in a different spot but the line he is on now if good, it will insulate him from the other teams top checkers.

I'm liking that Therrien wants to give the lines a chance to mesh by not (frank)ing with them, or so he says. We've seen enough Richarding around with line combinations with the last few coaches to last a lifetime thank you.

- not sure what the deal is with people already ragging on Parenteau. thought he was fine last night.
- i certainly hope Beaulieu isn't yanked for Tinordi. the guy needs to play. every night.
- you kind of glossed over Eller's giveaway there in the third. if he's not going to produce offensively again this year, those giveaways are unforgivable and will earn him a ticket to the wing.

those lines accounted for 4 goals last night all at even strength and you want to break them up?

Bourque sucks.

I'd healthy scratch his ass for Bournival, send a clear message that this poop is not gonna fly this season

- totally agreed
- I think they'll mix Beaulieu and Tinordi giving them each 40 games
- agreed, but he missed most of the camp, let's give him a bit more time. not all season, but a couple of weeks

I think Therrien will give Eller time to sort himself out especially early on, but he better not take too long or Galchenyuk will finally get his ice time at centre.

As a Leafs fan, I have to say, not only do I enjoy reading your take on the Habs performance but also their opponent, which in this case was the Leafs.

Always a fair and balanced take on both teams performances along with some great incites. A great read as always Eric.

100% agree on the performance of the Sportsnet broadcast, specifically Doug Maclean's rant... Not surprising though... Making irrational arguments, without any evidence to back it up, seems to be the norm with him.

It explains the overwhelming success of his tenure as a GM.
