Winnik got called for slashing earlier in the game (horrendously weak call) and Minny scored on it. winnik was hooked (no call) on the same play, and turned around and whacked the guy.

They gave Kessel a penalty because they were poop at the job, which in turn makes them even worse at their job.

The fact is, he was 100% slashed and the call should have been made. Why he reacted the way he did a second after is irrelevant.

That angle shows it a bit better. He still holds on to his stick with the hand (left) that was slashed, and then drops is just before being hit.

So perhaps is was a missed call, but does not excuse him for taking a selfish penalty, making it easy for the Wild to close out the game.

I have not been reading the thread, but just went to watch the video first to try to see what everyone was going to be talking about.

He was slashed, and I thought he raised his right hand as if to signal the ref to call a penalty. Don't know what the debate is. There was no embellishment.

Then they certainly don't like be yapped at on the ice, and you saw what happened, Kessel took away any chance the leafs had at a comeback.

I will blame the refs then. If they can not handle professional athletes who are superior to them yapping at them, then get out of the game. They need to realize that they are not the reason why people watch the sport.

As I said earlier (a few times) I only was able to watch the last six minutes of the game, after the blackout was lifted at 1030, and only saw the incident involving Kessel.

What happened earlier in the game that would put some context on Kessel's reaction and prompted him to mouth off to practically all the officials on the ice?
