Did you not hear the news? Grabbo plays soccer now, apparently. Also, this is one depressing article. I still hold out hope they are just tanking for McDavid or Eichel haha.

This team can still make the post season with or without the Spezza line, just by adding a veteran defenseman in Boyle.

I know Melnyk is cheap but Bryan Murray is no fool.. Could see Spezz being moved at the draft for a 1st (14- 25 range) & a decent/good prospect... Or Maybe something like St.Louis' 2nd rnd pick, Ty Rattie & Patrick Berglund.

If it's the ducks I wanna see lindholm and cogliano package or if St. Louis I want shattenkirk and berglund .. We can also sweeten the pot if that's asking for a lot

IF we get Lindholm in a trade, I will make a shrine dedicated to Eugene Melnyk in the middle of Kiev.

Really? I don't think they have a fighting chance. Like, at all. I know the East is a pooppot but there will be 14 other GM's (Give or take Nonis/Shanahan haha) in the East who have the ability to make their team better. Our goaltending is inconsistent due to a pretty poopacular defence save Karl. We will be minus a second line, are relying on bounce-back seasons for some, and setting unrealistic expectations for the rest.
Perhaps I'm being negative....but I just don't see how this team can be in the top 8 next April. In fact, if this coming season doesn't end with a chance at the lottery, I'll actually be a little dissapointed. If you're going to bottom out your roster and sell snake oil to the fans, I really hope there's a master hockey plan, and not just a financial one behind it.

And I'll start a pilgrimage to that shrine. From Quebec city.

Never forget that we have Brian Murray as our GM. I think this guy is one of the best when it comes to making deals. He knows what to do. I am a big believer in him and come next season we will be happy with what our team is.

He's a fringe top 6 player, more suited to be on a 3rd line on a good. BM actually should ask for more.

The package will likely have Etem and a first rounder. That's not dog Shiite.

Would also love to get Shattenkirk from st.Louis.. But with Spezza not guarantied to sign there we would have to sweeten the pot some IMO.. When our entire 2nd line leaves town I'm assuming BM will be looking at a UFA top 6 forward & hopefully we can get a top 4 D-Man in the Spezza trade.

No way murray deals for Bonino, as Yost mentioned he's really not that great of a hockey player if he is in Greenings class, third liner at best. I wonder if Smith-Pelley or Emerson Etem could be snagged from Anaheim. They do have an abundance of half-decent quality defenseman and some solid prospects. I still see our first coming back, gives us a top 10 in a crapshoot of a draft. 1st, Smith-Pelley and Sbisa/Vatanen for Spezza. Might be a bit too much but that's has to be withing the ballpark

He's probably a better player than CG14, but the two are .. comparable. That alone should be terrifying.

The Ducks would consider Spezza a rental. The Sens aren't getting Bonino, Smith-Pelley, or the #10 pick for a rental. Maybe Etem and the late first rounder but that's not enough. Besides, the Ducks don't want Spezza anyway, they want Kesler. Most of their assets will go toward trying to acquire him.
