I honestly thought that he was on to a new, brilliant strategy: take a one-year deal with a team that wasn't expected to make the playoffs, and then become a deadline deal trade to a contender.

Best of both worlds.

He has been our best player this year. We should totally resign him and if he starts slumping next year we could use him as trade bait. Give him the same exact contract 1 year 2 mill with a 2 mill bonus if he plays 40 games or more.

I think he sees NJ differently. Likes the way the team plays, likes the structure, etc. I think as long as Lou gives him a decent offer he stays.

I think we need more help on the right side with Brunner and Ryder there. We have Clowe, Elias/Henrique, and Ruutu/Zubrus on the left. But I wouldn't of minded Vanek.
