Change of scenery is needed me thinks
If im colorado, id see if florida would bite on a jamie mcginn+prospects and picks for kulikov
Mcginn has the oppertunity to be a gritty 25-30 goal scorer, he can hit like a brick, the problem is he needs to find his nieche and he isnt going to get to do that with colorado with landeskog/oreilley playing LW and even mcleod being given a chance more than him. |

Only reason I could see something like that happening is if FLA thinks he would be the prefect fit with Barkov. IMO I think we could get more for kulikov, not saying the value isn't there but we don't need more picks and prospects. If we can't get a similar top 6 forward for him I would rather keep him and hope he gets out of this poop he is in now.
Guy has all the skills I guess we will find out if he can put it all together. I hope so I would like to keep him and see him reach his potential. |

Sadly, I have to agree, lol. Wingers like Mcginn.. do grow on trees. He hasn't been doing much this year, unfortunately.
Do it. |

Trading Kulikov won't make a difference. We all know the Panthers will get someone below average in return and then Kulikov will go on to become the best offensive dman in the NHL lol. Things will never change in Florida, this team will always have potential but never reach it. Watching below average hockey is and will continue to be the norm with this Florida team.
Here's the losing formula:
Draft poorly
overpay for 3rd and 4th line vets that barely want to play here
have an above average goalie
poorly develop our youth until they finally hit their stride
trade away those players to go on and win championships and playoff games for other teams.
so basically the Panthers are the development pit stop for the rest of the NHL. |

Hemsky + a conditional pick, if we can sign him an extension after this year. We need to have Perron on the 2nd line, rather than Hemsky. |

You need a real veteran goalie to teach Markstom.
Anderson would be in heaven coming to Florida. A change of scenery would also benefit this goalie. So Anderson is a start...what else would you want from us?
Wierchioch will soon be a top 4, but he needs work. That would be a good trade for you guys
Andy and Wierchioch for Kulikov and a 3rd pick? Not bad? |

I still don't get that deal. Guy is coming off his worst season in his career and just had his second major wrist surgery but let's give him almost 5 mill a year for 5 years?
Weiss isn't and has never been a 5 mill player. I really miss the guy one of favorite cats, but with that contract I'm glad that we didn't give him it. |

I am sure you can sign him for a 1m after he is bought out, I dont see how Detriot keeps him for 4 more years at that cap hit. He has been a pretty useless player for them so far |

Ya I know it's crazy what does he have right now 2 goals and 1 assist?
And I wonder what the wings will do. Do they hope they he will regain at least some of his form, or just end it while they still get the free cap buyout? Reminds me of Richards last year, but this time they can't wait another year. |

I think they have to cut him loose and buy him out, if they are having cap issues as it is trying to get their young guys up from Grand Rapids, I dont know how they can justify him taking all that cap space.
Alfie still looks good and I think he might play after this season too, so they would need to resign him. There are some decent centres as UFAs this summer to fill that second line role (Bolland, Roy,Jokinen) and would be cheaper than him. |

I would have to agree with you. If it wasn't for 5 years might be a different story. |
