I doubt it, especially considering Pittsburgh didn't even play last night. |

I also really liked how you asked Gunner for his thoughts. I mean, obviously you won't be able to do that for every game and it's probably easy to speak with him since he's WNYer. Still, it's nice to have blogs worth reading. |

Even though the Sabres only have one goal in two games, I must say their play has exceeded my expectations. They're not as embarrassingly bad as I thought they would be and they could easily be 2-0 right now after having played two of the East's best teams.
Vanek seems like he can't buy a goal, but that should change eventually. And Girgensons is great. Myers has had a few missteps, but shined a couple times, too. Even Stafford is not annoying me as much as he usually does, having created a few decent chances.
They're putting up an effort and that's all I really ask for, given the situation of the roster. |

Last night's game against Ottawa was the most entertaining 1-0 game I've ever watched
You're obviously not old enough to have seen or remembered the 1-0 playoff game against New Jersey then, because that game was an entire city holding it's breath for 6 hours.
Intense, edge-of-your-seat entertainment. |

Stafford has to make a play every once in a while though. He's not doing anything incredibly well, nor anything incredibly poorly. In fact, he's simply just not doing anything. |

So what's you're saying is he's being typical Stafford? |

The one player on this team that everyone equally despises. Whenever we have a disagreement over some other player we always know that we can simply come back to Stafford and we'll all be on the same page again. |

He is laughing his way to another $4m season. He is a waste of a roster spot. Even if we buy him out and he goes somewhere else and does well I wouldn't care. Why? Because he isn't and won't be doing well for us. |

More or less. I'm not as high on the "trade everyone over the age of 25 not named Christian Ehrhoff or Steve Ott and compose this team entirely of players drafted within the past 3 years plus those two guys" as everyone else is, but if anyone should have been traded for the sake of a trade, it was Stafford. I still think he might have the talent to be somewhat of an impact player, but it won't be here. |

He's always had the talent, he just don't seem to have the drive or initiative to actually want to use the tools given to him. |

As much as I like ott. We should have took the first for him last year. That draft was deep. |

I would trade both Ott and Ehrhoff. Hoff will be 32 by next year and has what 8 years left? Ott could maybe get you a 1st rounder. |

I'm pretty sure I read a few times that Vancouver was more than willing to part with a 1st for Ott. |

Ott is a great piece for a playoff team. I can see a 1st for him easy. What did gaustad fetch at the deadline? |
