Richard Cloutier: Hemsky for Ryan Miller? The Cloutier Exclusive Report
- Maxbone

I would absolutely do Miller for Hemmer straight up if Miller was actually psyched about going to Edmonton. I wouldn't bet on it. I also wouldn't bet on Regier accepting this lowball.

I would ring MacT's effing neck if he added too much to get a year of Miller though.

Cue the "well have fun sucking then" from brain-dead fans of other teams.

Makes no real sense for Buffalo, unless you're sending a pick or prospect with Hemsky. Miller could rebound and be the goalie that I and most Leaf fans hated, but I doubt Buffalo moves him while his value is at a low point. And I'd also be interested in seeing what Dubnyk could be as his team evolves around him.

Buffalo probably doesn't do this deal straight up and there's no point giving up another quality asset just to get rid of Hemsky, better to deal him during the season.

I agree with you clouts... I trolled garth because I don't much care for his blogs and he's rude to the oilers. Anyhow i don't see it either. EK's up a tree here. The other thing about ek's post was that it might not be miller that is being talked about here, just a player with an NTC. WHo might have an TNC that the oilers would be interested in moving for On the other hand i don't believe Eklund has ever got an oilers rumor correct yet so his sources in edmonton at least are not very reliable.

No need to rush getting rid of Hemsky. Let Hemsky start the season with us and let the right deal arrive. We do not need Miller.

Didn't I propose a trade involving these two players to you a while ago? Maybe I am Eklund's source Seriously though, there would have to be more players/picks involved to make it worth it for both teams.

Clouts, I am surprised you have not come up with a "three way"!!!! It is your "forte" (haven't forgiven you for that Milan Lucic Blog), so "seriously" lol, how would this sound:
From Edmonton : Hemsky and Labarbera to Buffalo
From Buffalo: Ryan Miller and whatever (or nothing)

From Edmonton: Ryan Miller to Calgary (Calgary has no goalie....)
From Calgary: A s...t load of assets, draft picks and maybe a RW (I do not even know who they have!)

Like my 3 way? lol (before anybody gets excited I am being sarcastic).

Years ago I was floating trade deadline targets in the old Canucks team thread back in like 2007 and the next day Ek had a blog saying the Canucks were targetting everyone of those players I brought up as simple conjecture.

Seriously... Oilers fans think they're going to get Miller straight up for Hemsky?! That's funny. Your guy thinks Dubnyk is as good as Miller? That is even funnier! Miller has faced 800 more shots than Dubnyk over the past 2 seasons... you don't think that makes a HUGE difference in stats? The guy was a one-man show on most nights... the Sabres didn't have the offense the Oilers had, so he had to put it all on himself for them to have a chance on most nights. That pressure alone often makes a guy worse because they become tense and dwell on honest mistakes that happen to every player. If he knew he could allow 2-3 goals per night and actually win, he'd probably let in fewer just because of the peace of mind that the entire season isn't solely placed on him each game all year.

If there is any truth to this rumor whatsoever... I'd be surprised if Perron and Stafford were not also a part of it. Miller has won 10 more games than Dubnyk and only 2 more losses, the past 2 seasons... if Miller was playing horrible, what does that say about Dubnyk? Not to mention, the Oilers could benefit from a having a proven winner like Miller on their roster. There is something to be said for guys who have been through playoffs and Olympics like he has... every team needs that on their roster and in their locker room. Regier has always wanted Perron.

Easy there partner, I am not a fan of Dubey myself (I am close to hating him) and I also think that Miller is a proven goalie. But:
1. This deal is a joke, is not possible, EK is just stirring the pot, it does not make sense for anybody.
2, Miller has had a hard time since Lucic almost kills him, he has not been himself and... nobody lives out of past glories, or why does Buffalo want to deal him?
3. Hemsky needs to go and whatever we get in return that is awesome. However, Hemsky is 29 and has good hands.... if he bounces back, watch out (and I hate Hemsky more than I hate Dubey, Dubey is a funny tall guy).

And last... CHILL OUT! Nobody wants to touch your beloved-bad-attitude goalie!

Ek claims to have a source, more than likely clout's made it up and passed it off to him. So everyone can relax cause it isn't going to happen.

The problem with Miller is not his on ice play, it's his off ice shenanigans that scares me away. He's clearly got a much better pedigree than Dubnyk, but if his head is not in the game, why take the chance on him?

He can't hold Miller's jock and if he was so great, the Oilers wouldn't want to trade him.
