Direct quote from Hitch. Could you tell me what it even means?

On how he thinks about rolling all four lines:

“Well Darryl’s cheating. So, he goes down and plays three lines, and forces our hand a little bit. I’ve got a different way to play that tonight. So we’ll see if we can get an advantage, but he gets down and plays nine forwards pretty quickly, and it forces our hand into some situations where we’re going to have to rethink it for a game like tonight.”

From what I've seen. Cliff and Toff are both in tonight. So Richardson and Nolan are sitting. Dont like Nolan sitting. Esp with the size of the Blues. But like the potential Offense from Toff. Cliff sat last game due to being hurt I believe. He didnt practice this morning for maintenance reasons.

Can we expect anything different than being tied going into the third and the outcome being decided by one goal?

Schwartz, Steen, and Pietrangelo scare me the most on the Blues. Kings are fortunate to be up 3-2, but seem to be playing better as the series goes on.

Well. Here we are yet again. A talented team capable of competing with the very best teams in the league, but with one BIG question mark...How bad do we want to win? 45 years and no SC. Heck, we haven't even been to the finals since the early '70s! In the years I've followed them I can think of at least 3 years where we had the talent to win it all but someone or something tripped us up. I don't want excuses. If we lose tonight, the better team won the series, period. If we win tonight, it doesn't prove a flippin' thing. If we win this series, it doesn't mean shnikey! I want the damn Cup in St. Louis THIS year! We have the talent, do we have the will?
Blues...play YOUR game. Don't save anything for the next game, period, or shift. I want to see guys pucking and pissing their pants from exhaustion. Win this game! Don't think about anything else because there is nothing else for a middle aged man that never got the oportunity to play the greatest sport invented by man who has been a Blues fan for his entire adult life, and, due to circumstances beyond his control, has only one wish/desire in his pathetic excuse for a life...for the Blues to win the FREAKING CUP!!!!!
Ahem. Excuse me. I seemed to have gotten caried away a little there. Sorry.
Go Blues!!!!!

I'd be elated to see a game 7 but i lack confidence in this group being mentally tough enough.

Clifford not out there, Nolan is replacing him.

I think this goes to 7, I have a hard time believing the Blues go down with 4 losses in a row... I've been a Kings fan too long, I'm still stuck in pre-2012 mode, so I don't expect them to close out the series the first time around. I hope they do though, if this goes to 7, I think the Blues take it.

I've got money on an 8-2 Blues win, as they finally figure out how to score - but blow their allotment for goals scored for the rest of the series instead of saving a few for Monday night.

BTW, this is what really pisses me off about the NHL and NBC scheduling games: Blues/Kings was supposed to be on NBCSN, but (A) that game wasn't even done at 9pm (the scheduled start time out in LA), (B) it's not going to be over by the time our game starts (it's headed for OT), (C) they can't shift over to CNBC because Detroit/Anaheim is only now getting into the 3rd period, which means (D) it goes to NHL Network for the start - meaning those of us who actually ponied up money for NHL GameCenter can't see this unless we shelled out money for the upper tier on DirecTV (I'll spend some money, but I'm not dropping another $12 for one channel).

Read it with this exchange from Twister in mind:

Jonas: No, I was just curious as to which way you were going to head.

Jo: Southeast, I think ... to the counter.

See above. It's a 2 on 3. Why is Polak collapsing to the top of the crease???

Yeah, terrible defense there - and Doughty buried that right over Elliott's shoulder. Hard for any goalie to make the proper reaction there, much less have time to react; even harder when your defenseman works against you.

Stewart with the post, had Quick beaten to the far side. Story of the series for the Blues.

Flipped off after the goal to watch the end of Shelby Miller's gem. What's all this about Petro hurt?

No idea, I didn't notice anything. Looking back to see if I can see something.

-- Whatever it was, it happened before they flipped over from Caps/Rangers, and nothing was said on the broadcast.

Why in the hell were Berglund, Oshie and Perron all within 5 feet of each other behind the net there? Made it really easy for the Kings to clear once the puck came out.

GOAL! Polak pounds a shot on net, and it just ticks off Porter and in. And here I was about to ask why the hell Backes dished that back when he was sitting alone in the slot.

Kings 1, Blues 1.
