Pretty nice grab by the Devils for a 5th rounder.

Going to experiment having Kovy play with a Russian, I'm guessing.

I'd been doing research on possible Russian players to fill the wing on that line, but really couldn't find anyone suitable.

I say that because he enjoyed a pretty successful season in the KHL playing with Russian guys on his line. Maybe Deboer communicated with Lou that he'd want to try a similar dynamic for the Zajac Kovy line.

I thought you guys would have went for Bernier, not Loki.

he wasnt getting a shot on kings 4 lines. so i guess he got out. shouldve gotten more than just a 5th rd pick. w/e man. good riddance. he wasnt that good when he was with the lak main team.

What a steal. Lokty just needs a chance. Didnt fit in with the kings but deserves much more than a 5th.

Not even the same type of deal though. Loktionov has a much better attitude. He has done everything the Kings wanted him to do. He could have bolted to the KHL numerous times. He has had lingering shoulder injuries.

Good pick up for the Devils. He wasnt gonna be a better Center than what we have. We have tried him at LW with Kopi and Richards. He doesnt seem to work very well at wing. Not to mention he really doesnt like it and doesnt feel comfortable. Play him with Kovi and Zajac on a diff line. Maybe its magic.

JJ is up for good.

Well, that's good to hear. Just so you know, I'm not comparing them because they're Russian, I'm comparing them because they have failed to live up to their potential thus far, and because they were traded for weak draft picks.

Hopefully, he can utilize his talent better in Jersey.

Good pickup by Lou. Kids got loads of talent and can skate very well, but couldn't crack our top six due to depth at center.

I wish Lokti nothing but the best.

Not sure where he will end up in terms of his long term achievements, but I do agree with above "Love it" comments. At least you know this kid has played in the big show...wonder what percentage of 5th rounders actually make it onto an NHL sheet of ice for a significant career....?
