If Babcock gets fired after losing to Tampa tomorrow and Lou takes over as coach I'll agree with you.

Gillis did the same poop in 2011 with Salo, he suffered a major injury in camp and was supposed to be out like 3 months or so, yet they sat him out like an extra couple of weeks until another injury hit, and they had the cap space to bring him back. Canucks had like 6 dmen all making 3M+ when the playoffs started

im about as far removed from them emotionally as I have been since I started following hockey. It's like Leaf fans(the smart ones) during the Nonis era.

id probably get more rattled if you ripped the Eagles or Raptors tbh

If Dubas was GM, they'd probably get some questions about it from the NHL, but Lou and his accent scare all the suits in the NHL head office.

Remember the Kovalchuk crap? They end up losing a 1st round pick as a penalty for cap circumvention only to have the NHL go "nah we were just joking man" and give them their pick back.

It is weird where the league draws the line on certain issues. The Flyers traded Chris Pronger to the Coyotes at the 2015 draft. Five months later he was inducted into the HOF.

The Blackhawks gave Hossa a ridiculous back diving deal, so the Devils tried to take it a step further and had their first round pick taken (then given back).

There really isn't much consistency.

The Pronger trade was a beauty too. I'm surprised Melnickel-and-dime wasn't interested though.

The NHL is sort of lucky that the American media don't give a poop about them. They do things that the other 3 major sports leagues would get ripped for.

At some point, some team will go all in with a nerdy GM who takes advantage of every idiot GM. The old heads will all cry that this isn't the way the NHL works.

"Look at this team! They're icing a 4th line of all skilled players. That'll never work!"
