The kid is a pro in mindset already. I doubt this experience is going to send him into a tailspin to end the year.

Granted his numbers could look deflated due to the suspension....but in the end it doesn't really matter.

What's apparent is the kids skill and drive. His passion and his ability. These will be what gets him drafted.

Heck, teams might like to see the kid has a chip on his shoulder. You don't like dirty but if you have a talented guy that can also walk the line you're set.

Tough play. The hit didn't exactly look intentional and the player was crouching down, but he still made contact to the head to a player in a vulnerable position. Suspension deserved.

I think him raising his right elbow up made it intentional to me, it wasn't a wise move the team depends on him in all 3 zone and now will rely on several younger kids to pick up the slack. Just not a smart move.

A veteran of four NHL work stoppages -- three owners’ lockouts and one players’ strike -- the 40-year-old winger has seen this same old movie too many times.

"We have to stop the cycle of work stoppages," Whitney told ESPN.com on Friday. "It kills the game. And I’m not saying this to kiss up to them, but it’s not fair to the fans."

No way was it intentional. Monahan doesn't play dirty. He connected on the head so the suspension is warranted but as far as him raising his elbow that's just part of a hockey movement on a hit. The player crouching and the angle he came in on contributed to where he made contact. Arms move during a hit, that's a fact.

The 67s are god awful this year, Monahan was one of three bright spots, the other two being Graovac and Ceci, so there will be no slack picking up, only faster free falling to the number one overall pick.

Depending on how the teams fall into their draft spots, because we all know this lockout will last the entire season, a handful of teams would love to get their hands on Monahan. Teams like the Leafs, Stars, Habs and Flames would love this kid.

Any team would want any ranked in the top 5 of ISS or CSS even the top 10, it is shaping up to be a very solid maybe even deep draft.

i don't think it was a intended as a dirty play, he kind of stumbled as he went in, but just like it is with your stick, you have to be responsible for your body parts when engaging another player.
