Your strong disliking of Regehr really showed in this article. Kind of shallow. Regehr isn't on this team to win fights.. leave that to Scott, Kaleta, Ott, McCormick, and Tropp.

I think Regehr is a very good player to have on the Sabres. He is past his prime and definitely on the downside of his career. BUT there are a lot of young players that have come out and said that Regehr is like having a coach on the ice with them. McNabb and Weber both said they try to sit by him in every film session and continuously look for coaching cues from him during games and practices.

He might now blow you out of your chair.. but Regehr is a very good player to have on this team.

I second that!

Regehr isn't Scott Stevens and never was. He's always been a defenseman that knows his limits and plays within them. He can lay out a big hit every once in a while, and even did so this year. I'm not sure what people were expecting from him other than what they got. He was brought in for stability moreso than to be "the guy" in shut down situations.

Playing all season with a torn rotator cuff probably cramped his style as well.
