Agree all 3 were top candidates. I still believe Mike Gillis deserves another chance. He has been spending his time learning everything possible about Analytics as well as studying organizational structures. Fire Nicholson. Hire Gillis. Then let him rebuild the organization. He'd fire Holland, Schwartz, rebuild pro scouting, etc...

As much as I sympathize with Oiler fans for bad GM's, at least you guys have two of the best players in the league to build around. I'm blown away how Edmonton has not done better with their own version of Crosby-Malkin. Holland needs to go and someone with a better vision needs to come in. Or at least "A vision" as I was never sure what Hollands was.

Honestly to break into hockey when he didn't even play at a professional level is crazy. It's by far one of hockey's biggest issues. Unless you're an upper middle class family, you haven't the slightest of chances to play in the NHL. Just the equipment cost alone for a child that's growing up is insane.

Look at soccer, you'll have to buy cleats and shin guards, that's it.
