Jake on Ottawa:
“I guarantee that every single person who has a boss, every sports team in the world can guarantee it happens everywhere," Voracek told NBC Sports Philadelphia on Wednesday. “And I can guarantee that the coaches behind the door talk about the players. It happens everywhere all the time.
“You go out for a beer, you go out for dinner, it happens. The coaches vent about the players when they go out to dinner about who (expletive) sucks, who’s playing bad, who’s playing better. It happens everywhere. So now it comes out, they’re making a big deal. I don’t think they said anything bad, just that their PK and their PP sucks.” |

"It's bad" (more or less) isn't really commentary, not is it a discussion.
As for choosing what you want to do, you're right. Some people prefer to come on here and be condescending douchebag know-it-all's who get off on being smarter than everyone, and some of us come on here to have some fun. To each their own. - jmatchett383

Serious question: if engaging with a poster causes you such aggravation, why do it? That doesn't sound fun to me. There are posters here who I absolutely will not reply to any comment they make. None. I just don't want to deal with them at all. Result: no aggravation for Scoob. That's fun.

I think Hexy is kidding himself if we stand pat this season. I'm hoping he's reached out to Quenneville to gauge interest. Left a message with Kevin Dineen and at least looked into what it would cost to get Nylander. I'm sure there have been a few conversations with teams looking to deal a goalie. I may be too optimistic???
Supposedly, the Leafs would target one of, or a combination of Sanheim, Hagg, Myers, Ghost. I would deal Hagg and could be convinced to deal Sanheim. I liked what I saw of Myers in preseason and would like to hold on to him for a little while. Ghost is our PP qb and while it is struggling, I believe he is too valuable. Unless we feel Sanheim or Provy could work top PP, I'd assume Ghost is not in deal.
Refresh my memory, Nylander played mostly wing last season but could be moved to center? I think that is what I read. Only have seen highlights, not much in terms of game play. - cdearth23
Nylander played wing with the Leafs but played center at every level before that. He is already an established star player. How many forwards score 122 points in their first 2 years? I would trade any of the four D men without hesitation. But it will take more than that to get him.

No matter what that Uber driver thought of those players and their tip, what he did was stoop to the lowest level for revenge. That shows such bad character IMO, I didn’t even want to hear what the players said. Uber driver should lose his job and not get a dime for that.

They keeping calling it an elbow when it was clearly a shoulder. Oshie initiated contact, Malkin had the puck, Oshie was bent over.
Too bad, you want to hit a bigger guy don't bend over.

We've spent years complaining about the teams defense and developing defenseman. Now we should turn around and trade them? That's a mistake. We have a ton of quality forward prospects.

I thought it should have been a double-minor, not a 5+game. And yes, Oshie did put himself in a bad spot, but Malkin knew exactly what he was doing.
Didn't we all want Tom Wilson suspended for taking advantage of players who put themselves in vulnerable positions? |

We are deeper at forward; to make a trade there is a good plan. Not Giroux, not Couturier or any roster forward 23 and under unless you get the same level youth back. |

It's funny, I heard a bit by George Carlin. In it, he talked about how he hated the entire baby boomer generation because all they did was sit back and let their parents deal with all of the problems, then when it was their turn, they whined and cried, the whole time having a "Gimme gimme gimme" mentality.
Sound familiar? |

All of the D prospects cannot be on the same team . You may as well trade one or two for quality. None of the forward prospects are anywhere near the talent of Nylander and he is not a prospect. He is a player right now. Couts, Patrick, and Nylander would be an outstanding center trio for years to come. |
