Could be. But taking on a 6 million dollar goalie who can't make 4 saves in a game hardly screams "benefit" to me. - Leeman4Gilmour

Unless they go by the names Benn or Eriksson I don't literally don't want any players from Dallas. |

Too lazy to read back, does Scrivens have to clear waivers if they send him to the Marlies or is it a 2-way deal? |

They save even more if and when they buy out Booth and one other player. - Two_For_Truth
Unless my math is wrong, and I'm sure you'll correct me if it is, that trade saves them 1.8M and that's if they let Garon walk after the season.
EDIT: Ok, either you edited your original post or I just read it wrong. Regardless, even with a buyout of Booth they're still in bad shape. Who else are they going to buy out? That's also creating more holes that have to be filled. Gillis isn't going to want a big salary back for Luongo. For that matter, Yzerman probably doesn't want to pick up 9.5M after getting out from under Lecavalier's contract. |

One would think Carlye would have a lot of knowledge about a guy like Robidas after playing against him for so long.
I really believe the Leafs are going to grab him. |

Two way deals vs. one way deals have nothing to do with waiver eligibility. It's only what they get paid in each league.
Waiver eligibility is based on a combination of games played and seasons in the NHL.
And, yes, he'd have to clear waivers. |

Its one way and he has to clear waivers. Though it being one-way is not relevant to his waiver status, but rather to his wage between leagues |

They save with the fact that they get a center who can play instead of a 9 million dollars in cap hits that sits on the bench in the form of Ballard and Luongo. If they buy-out Booth and another player, they continue to save. Also doesn't include salary that may be held back, even if it's just 1 million dollars. |

Plus age. He was I think 24 when he signed (plus a goalie) so he had a reduced number of games to play before he was waiver eligible. |

I'd love to grab him. He's not worth the two 2nds of Regehr, but maybe a second and a low prospect? |

I think what this team really needs is a 6 million dollar goalie who makes Toskala look like an upgrade.

Hard to say, we were discussing it earlier but couldn't quite agree. Looking at his stats, it appears like the 36 year old can still bring it. I haven't watched him play, and knowing some teams like Dallas, they don't mind adding a few hits or blocked shots here and there.
A few younger dmen have got two 2nd rounders. Not sure if that's something I'd do just based on his age, but a 2nd and a D prospect, or perhaps someone ready/almost ready like Holzer. |

What that Rask kid for the almighty Razor!
No I was just curious. The goalie we have in providence is really good imo. One of the best goalies in the a and was very successful in the swedish elite league. |

I say we get Kipper AND Luongo.
Luongo is a better option than signing Andrew Raycroft to a 10 year, 100 million dollar deal, after all. |
