kassian was not balls out when he got his chance to play up here

IMO Tropp makes this an easy trade for darcy to make

- homiedclown

Tropp is a better 3rd line winger than Kassian at this point...plus I think we are still going after Dustin Brown in the off season once LA bites the big one and fails to make the playoffs ...they will be primed to make a deal with Buffalo for a pick.....which LA no longer has

Would you trade our 2 first picks for say the first or second overal pick who ever has it. Or a combination of roy and a frist or seconds. Our would you rather try to trade them for a top player say like Nash.

What about using our first round pick to try to get Getzlaf?

I could care less if Roy was centering the 4th line. I'd put Hodgson between Vanek and Pominville. I hate Roy on that line.
- PassionBucket16

I am ok with that because I also think leino, ennis and staff would be good, given time together

Kassian def had a higher ceiling than Tropp or Foligno...
But I love the trade

You guys got a good one in Hodgson...scored 16 goals already this year playing about 12 minutes a game and with non-offensive scrubs. With the right wingers he'll be a stud for many years. Lots has been said about Kassian (and personally I dont mind the trade...Hodgson was stuck behind Henrik and Kesler here and the Canucks needed an a**hole and it sounds like Kassian can play a bit) but what's the scouting report on Gragnani??...looking at his numbers he's got some offensive upside and he's a plus player in Buff.

I am not there yet, too big of a hill to climb

this trade is the talk of the nhl right now

No, he said Foligno made it easier.

What would a dman have to do with moving a power forward?

- PassionBucket16

Man is everyone on the RAG on this blog today, he said moving Kassian made it easier when it came to grit because of Foligno and McNabb.

Get ready for me to sound like Rico...

Take Galchenyuk 1st
Roy, pysyk, 1st(nsh), Sekera -> Shea Weber
Adam, Leopold, 2nd -> Dustin Brown
I think that's enough for those 2
Somehow dump leino
Getting weber & brown entices Parise to come here

Parise-Hodgson-Stafford
Vanek-Ennis-Pominville
Armia-Galchenyuk-Brown
Gerbe-McCormick-Kaleta
Tropp
Foligno
Switch the lines up... Add Foligno & Tropp and subtract Armia & Galchenyuk if not ready yet... But I think u all get the point

Our defense would also be sick
Ehrhoff-S.Weber
Regehr-Myers
McNabb-M.weber
Brennan
Schiestel

Um, that would be sick
It does work $$$$-wise if the cap goes up a few mil
But it's prob crazy to think all that could happen

- jdfitz77

Armia will not be here next year.

Gragnani was a whipping boy on a defense corps that had too many offensive type players. He made a few bonehead plays at the worst times, but I think he's okay, and wasn't as bad as most people say he was. That being said, you can have him.

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Leino-Ennis-Stafford
Gerbe-Roy-Kaleta
Tropp-Ellis-Boyes

If they tank, waive Boyes, put Ellis in the pressbox, and bring up Adam and Foligno to play the 4th line.

I would have liked to keep him as far as him coming back, sounds like he wants 3 mill a yr.
- SABRES 89

I'm sure the fact that he was traded for a 1st round pick won't help his asking price to go down!

Staal has been on the second line all year this year. Remember, Crosby is out and Staal is only behind Malkin, and most of the time Malkin was playing wing with Crosby before Neal got there.

Jordan Staal also is one of their best PKer's and plays on the PP too.

Hodgson is getting roughly 13 minutes a night and has 33 points in 801 minutes, Staal has 31 points in 847 minutes played, an average of 20 minutes a night. Staal is second in icetime among forwards on the Penguins this year and has been around 20 minutes a night for the past 5 years.

- Flynox

I always thought they generally only played together on the PP or in empty net situations I imagine.

grags is a fine 5/6 d man with time on second team pp

he lost his confidence and was really slow in developing

they tried to move him to wing early on and then put him back to d

he was also part of our ahl team, when it was split with our players and florida's players

he will have a few turnovers but has room to grow

And Foligno
- nfph

I agree with both posts.

Tropp and Foligno made this easier for Darcy to trade Kassian.

But let me tell ya, losing both Goose and Zach I am more than a bit concerned about our toughness.

Make no mistake , this team now must be TEAM TOUGH !

Best player (IMO) in the Flyers series, but he started the year poorly. Too one-dimensional. But you are right, the team didn't have enough toughness on defense, hence the emergence of Weber and McNabb (McNasty, in Garth's words).

Foligno and Adam will both benefit from playing in the AHL for the rest of the year and continue their development. No need to rush them to make a run at 8th place

Bring up McNabb and Foligno and that issue is solved.
