Advanced stats guys actually loved Daley. Well loved is an overstatement they loved him compare to scuderi. They liked his possession numbers a ton. I think they thought he was mis-used at a top 4 guy but would be fine in a 3rd pairing.

Fleury + Letang for Mathews would be a pretty good deal for Edmonton (not sure if they can handle the cap hit). But honestly would do nothing for our team as we would have 3 #1 centers and lack a #1 D.

Fleury for Mathews would be a joke. Not even sure if Fleury + 2017 1st + Maata + Sprong would be enough.l

If his value was truly that high, I would be okay dealing him and getting a young stud at a position of need. We are win now mode and Fleury will be fine until the end of his contract and we still have Jarry at that point, plus we can get guys like Vokoun as insurance.

Trading Fleury and playing Murray would be for cap reasons mainly. But if we get a top six winger or a top 4 D-man on an ELC its an equivalent amount of savings. So yeah I would trade him, as long as its for a real impact guy with term.

There was a time where I would have been thrilled at that price for 6 years, but with his play lately this seems risky.

Maatta is much more valuable than Despres.

For what it's worth Dk and Yohe were on madden yesterday saying that maatta was very very limited in working out the last yr due to injuries and that given a full offseason of training with no injuries will greatly help him. That is why he has looked so bad they say.

So the pens will have 11 mil invested in their top pairing. Pouliot and dumoulin becomes that much more valuable with their EL deals

olli is a little bit more worth it though.
