It really was. At first glance, it looked like the rebound came to him because Giroux's in a shooting stance. All of a sudden, it's on Carter's blade.

Yeah me too. But he is my harbringer. Gonna figure out if we can make a mess in the afterlife. Cuz one thing we had in common is that we both weren't happy unless we could make a mess...

I feel you about life being tough right now. I have had several car issues costing over 3 grand, my wife has a cyst on her overies, getting a biopsy tomorrow. Pray for us. My G-mom diagnosed with full dimensia, Grandpop just finished radiation for testicular cancer, and last night my brother was sent to hospital after car crash. In ICU all night. He was turning into his house and someone hit him from behind pushing him into on coming traffic, and got broad-sided.... Not sure how much more I can take...

I went with Roenick, Forsberg, and a write in vote for Shelley.

It's an outrage he wasn't one of the choices.

It really is. My childhood dog died in her sleep, which is peaceful but very sudden. I knew something was wrong because my parents let me sleep until 12pm that morning.

I know I've told this before, but:

When asked (off camera) his favorite off-the-field moment from 2008, Chase Utley said it was a night in his hotel in a road trip. Burrell had the next room over, and he's going to town on some girl. In the middle of it all, he hears Burrell tell the girl, "Tell me that your pu$$y's jealous!" So the girl yells out, "My pu$$y's jealous!" And Pat yells back, "That's right, cause Pat Burrell's in your ass."

Philadelphia lost a true legend when they let him walk.

This actually makes me want to go back and get myself back into playing sports when I was a kid instead of video games.... I was a pretty good golfer... was shooting in the low 90's high 80's at age 11. Once finished a "skins" charity hole for John Daily. I could have been Tiger Woods if my dad didn't push me too hard. He used to make me do squats infront of Jack Nicholas' "Golf my Way" with a putter held over my head.... I was done with golf after that...

4. Spoke with him several times as I used to live in Old City and work at a restaurant he frequently ate at. Was very shy, but friendly.

1. Not sure what your expectations were but 30+ goals every year along with PK time and good two-way play seems pretty good to me.

2. He played in all situations and was always a plus player so he must have been somewhat intelligent.

3. He was unlikeable to some.

I have recounted my experience with Carter at the 2007-08 STH "Meet the Players" Night. He was very cordial to both my older son and me (this was before I met my wife). Mike Richards was actually a little gruff the evening I went.

My wife and her mom have been STH's for years. Only Kyle Calder was ever rude, they said.
