Zegras might be talented, but that doesn't equate to wins...just ask McDavid. |

One of worst attitudes in the NHL - entitled little POS that plays with no grit or heart and is starting to decline with injuries. Philly's problem now, the kinda player you'll never win with. |

Verbeek F/U … we can’t score so you trade our most imaginative and gifted offensive player for a complete stiff and 2 worthless picks.. you just gave him away…
F/U Verbeek ….
Z - I hope you jam it right down his gullet every time we play you… |

low risk, you didnt pay anything, possible good reward as the talent is there, but I dont see awork ethic, even lessa playoff warrior |

Clearly a guy that had some attitude/commitment issues in Anaheim, but sometimes a change of scenery shows those issues were overblown and/or a change was needed. Seems like a decent low risk/high reward move. |

Allen has not yet been officially announced…he is a UFa..so it can’t be until July 1… unless the flyers were to trade for his rights which has been discussed a lot today. Either way I believe he’s a flyer July 1. |

I think that is a fine return for Anaheim. Zegras is more style than substance. If not for him having the occasional Michigan goal, he would be a relatively unknown player. Has had a couple good seasons as a young guy. Has not proven he can be a consistent/quality player that is going to help a team win.
They get rid of his salary, pick up Poehling who will be a good depth option for Anaheim and they get a couple picks. For the Ducks, what they do with the extra $5.75M will make or break this trade.
Pretty good gamble for Philly to take. They still have 3 1sts, who cares about the 2nd and 4th. Zegras is in a contract year, so I could totally see him having a strong offensive season to earn another big payday. I wouldnt want to be the team to give him that payday however. |

It’s low risk and they didn’t give up very much. Essentially a bottom 6 forward and a 2nd. Also, they’re not locked in long term. They desperately need some skill in the forward group. They also have to target some
Centres in the draft. Real area of need. |

The deal for Zegras….is extremely good….why not take a swing for a young guy that has been productive in the league and really needed a fresh start. |

Yes. That’s where I stand. I was worried they’d have flipped a 1st for him but they didn’t. Not a lot of assets spent to take a look at him for a year. I want them to keep the firsts unless they can flip say their first and a second to move up a bit. I’d also be fine if we kept them all as we desperately need to replenish the pipeline. |

So over the last year and change flyers have trade gauthier and poehling for drysdale and zegras. Ages and picks are a wash. Flyers got smaller but more skilled.
Flyers are very small in the forward ranks.
It’s a soft and small team right now. |

Small does not equal soft.
The Flyers have arguably the least amount of skill in the NHL. They don’t have the luxury to worry about heights and weights. If the “rebuild” works and they obtain a lot of talent over the next couple seasons and improve dramatically, then they can make adjustments around the edges based on height and weight needs.
If Florida doesn’t have Huberdeau they never get Tkachuk. |

Very small very soft. Nailed it. How many small nerds can one team collect. They will not improve next year at all. Maybe the pp goes up but there is absolutely no physical presence on this team |
