No way they should consider moving Bonk, especially after passing on Perreault, but just looking at the Flyers extreme need for shutdown type defensemen currently. Can't afford to squander this asset as there isn't anyone else the same profile as him in the system. And, they need size in the lineup - just too many reasons to stand pat on him, just let him develop period.
It could be argued there is a bigger need for pair 1 defensemen on this team vs. a center in that #6 slot. A better question for this blog should be, who should the Flyers draft with these 6 picks to solidify the back end AND crease ? Anyone who has watched them knows this still needs to be addressed. |
