Thanks bud. I managed to finish it, which is a miracle by itself with how crazy things are at work and home these days.

tks Hugo!
I think management tried to convince other teams that they could actually target a winger to drive the 2nd line. BS imo. not sure many did bite on that one.

there's many reasons we had good performances from line #1 #3 and #4 during the season, not all the time but often enough, and one of these reasons is this :

Suzuki Dvorak and Evans can win faceoffs.
Dach and Newhook cannot.

so yeah, they're looking for a #2C. big time. especially if they let Dvorak walk.

good blog as usual, Hugo

It’s more than likely Primeau will be included in a trade so he can have a fresh start somewhere else as I don’t see Montreal considering him at all for the backup position next season.

while I agree that there's a good chance Primeau gets traded, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another shot with the big club again next year if he shows up at camp ready and plays well... Dobes is good but I don't find he's a lock for the backup position just yet.

cap is going up, in terms of % of cap, going down 1M while the cap is going up should rebalance things a bit. I would be ok with 3yrs at 2.5M/yr.

if they can't find their #2 C on the market (UFA/RFA/Trade)...they might have to swing back to Dvo....

- Symba007

the cap going up doesn't mean that GMs need to dish out more money to everyone, there is still cap management to be had in order to continue implementing the planned salary structure.

I know you probably do read it but I just find it amusing to think you don't bother and just want to encourage your friend (and there wouldn't be anything wrong with that lol).

yes. and i just got done emailing to get the temp tags. they're UPSing them to me but i asked for a PDF to be emailed so i can tape it to the window and drive it tonight.

i drove it a little in the neighborhood and i think i like it. it's punchier than i expected from a stop so that's good because you're never far from a red light or stop sign in NJ anyway so a quick car is more important than a fast car.

Awesome! Sounds like a nice car with some pep and good on fuel. Wawa will have to make more revenue from sandwiches and drinks from you.

Curious to see how Dach will be at camp, Gorton was pretty direct in the season end briefing, he clearly said that Dach MUST show up at camp ready this time, clearly indicating he was not ready last September.

This is the last year of his deal also...he will be RFA summer 2026.

ty, friend.

and wawa's gonna see it right away because it showed up on E so i need gas.
driveway.com said the dealer was supposed to fill it up so they are reimbursing me for my first fill up.

i got the copy of the temp tag now so i'm gonna go home after work and tape it to the window and drive it to give the keys to the guy who's buying the useless shell of my former kia sportage. so i'll get a little test drive in. run it through a car wash and all that.

I dare to think Dach understood the message and will be much improved next season.

Will it be enough to slot back into the top 6, either as a winger or a centre, that remains to be seen.

Dach and Newhook just need to go.

Dach doesn't take his career seriously. Talks of him hanging with his buddies all summer in Fort Saskatchewan drinking beer and goofing off.

And if there weren't end-boards....Newhook would still be skating in a straight line. Zero hockey IQ.....ZERO!!!!!!

Dach obviously made a mistake, I think next season will be very telling if it's just a bump in the road or if he simply won't do what he must to reach his potential.

As for Newhook, I get what you're saying but I still like him. I'd switch him from the powerplay units to the penalty kill. His speed could be used as a potential threat and could be very useful in that aspect of the game. Kind of like how Paul Byron was.

The mistake was getting caught.
