We best win game 1 or we'll fall into the same trap as Tampa. You don't want to fall behind to the Stanley Cup Champions, especially after they destroyed their cross state rivals. It's going to be a long series. You heard it here first (Uno).

I'm hoping the combined pessimism of the fanbase does a reverse psychosis and the Leafs win uncharacteristically. No Red Kelly pyramids needed here.

FIRSTIES!!!

from last thread:

well i suppose that 191 is “heavy” in this day and age🤦‍♂️

middle school football is just flag football so nobody gets hurt🤦🏿‍♂️

girls play by the same rules🤦‍♂️

when i played parks and recreation through middle school flag football it was with shells and everything was fair game save the ball carrier👊🏿

at least kids could learn how to deliver forearm shivers and other ways to deal with linemen at close range👍

the NHL has clearly been trying to emasculate the sport starting with the instigator penalty🤦🏿‍♂️

i can’t watch a college or nfl game without seeing an good hit but the refs throw a flag for targeting(whatever that means)🤦‍♂️

I’ve been training my neck for decades and i always led with my face (sand lot through big time college football).👊🏿

also, pressure waves from training and combat yet, on film, my brain is pristine👍

so if you’re thinking about getting your kids into contact sports, the best way to protect them is to make sure that they work the neck👍🏿

if you can’t afford a neck flex, just teach them how to do neck isos👍

you’re not gonna find a neck machine in gyms anymore because nobody prioritizes the neck anymore but what they don’t realize is that their head sits on top of it👊🏿

what a (frank)ing joke🤦‍♂️

edit: nice alliteration👍🏿

I was just thinking the other day, Skalapy has strayed from his mission statement lately and it's not about the necks anymore, but I was wrong.

It's wild to me that this is only the second time since 2003 that the Leafs have made it to the second round. As an Oilers fan I am all for it, I've never been one to cheer against Canadian teams (unless playing them of course ). I want as many Canadian teams going deep as possible, hopefully Winnipeg moves on and then 3 of the 4 series have a Canadian team. With any luck we see 3 of the remaining 4 teams as Canadian teams.

Do people really feel this way?

In that series, the Panthers and the Leafs were quite close at even strength. The Leafs, you'd even argue, had a 5v5 advantage in the way they played. Bobrovsky was absolutely stellar - he stole the series for them and if you followed the bouncing ball, he did the same thing against Carolina in their next series. I think a massive differentiator was the special teams and I'm hoping some of the improvements this year - at least so far in the playoffs - can continue to help there.

The Panthers are a big team. They're strong, physical, they have a fantastic forecheck and they have good finishing. I think they are generally a faster team as well. On that surface it's not exactly looking too good.

The Leafs should have better finishing and they have vastly improved their defense and goaltending from 2 years ago. They weren't bad:

Rielly-Schenn; Brodie-McCabe and then Giordano/Holl/Liljegren in the mixture of suck as the third pair - backed up in net by Samsonov (.898% in the playoffs) with 2 games Woll at the end.

I mention that because compared to Rielly-Carlo; Tanev-McCabe and OEL-Benoit, this year's defense is stronger and better at actual defense. You put them in front of Stolarz or a more seasoned Woll and our goaltending is better as well.

That Florida team had Forsling-Ekblad, Staal-Montour and mostly Mahura-Gudas.

This one has Ekblad-Forsling, Mikkola-Jones and Kulikov-Schmidt. Still big - maybe bigger when you take Mikkola and Jones compared to Staal and Gudas - but maybe not quite as adept at moving the puck and some guys in there - Jones, Kulikov and Schmidt in particular aren't the strongest on D either.

I thought that last time we played them we got goalied and that we probably needed an extra gear to get to the net and create chaos down low. I think we have more guys who will do that now.

I don't think either team is really coming in that banged up. At least not from their first round series. Matthews is still not healthy and that is probably the team's biggest challenge.

Exactly. He’s (frank)in’ cookin’ rn too.

Hopefully Lorentz, OEL, and Stolarz has some ideas on how to get them rattled.

Honestly, (frank)in’ start Reavo. Who cares. You’re gonna loser anyways maybe he can get the crowd going and remind them that if that start poop he’ll be on the bench waiting.

🤣
it’s always about the neck because your head sits on top of it👊🏿

be careful and don’t over do it because you will strain a muscle if you dive into the anti pencil neck movement too fast👊

This is why you need to dress a thick neck like the grim reaver to bang some bodies and hurt some of these post instigator tough guys👊🏿

leave him in for the whole series like they should’ve done with Orr and McLaren👊

plant his big ass in front of the net for the power play and watch the pp goals skyrocket👊🏿

why pay this stud more than homoberg when you’re just gonna sit him because he’s not gettin pointz?🤔

Oh don't worry I have to shop at thick and strong neck store. One time I was guilty of buying a dress shirt from a pencil neck store, couldn't close the top button.

I think gritting my teeth a lot as a Leafs fan helps.

Tkachuk can’t skate very well right now, he’s no where near fully recovered from the groin injury.
The previous FL/Leafs series could’ve went the other way, there’s no question.
This one is going to be the same, there’s certainly no cakewalk for FL coming. Most rational fans realize this, but A lot of people just love trolling Leafers, though, and many of you quickly snap at the bait, so they laugh & it continues..
