A beer league is better than the KHL - at least with a North American beer league, you don't have to live in that Russian third world poop hole.

Trotz is not too bright thou, handing Saros that contract at that age, when he has a perfectly capable starter on ELC and could have brought in great assets trading Saros.
GMs are a funny bunch. |

Trotz went all in on the next few years before a lot of his contracts turn into liabilities. Not sure that is a great gamble on that team as I don't think they are a top contender, but I'll give him credit for being aggressive at least. |

This probably isn't even real drama. Trotz sits down with Milstein. "Listen guys. I want to limit Saros to 40-50 starts. So your guy will be playing 30-40 games. Wedgewood is just AHL depth. So the role is a 1B, which is a good stepping stone. If you outperform Saros, you'll get more starts. And if you really take a leap forward, we could explore a trade then, dealing from a position of strength"
Oh I see. We'll shut up then and come to camp ready to compete. No drama. |

Flyers have plenty of picks over the next two years. They’d be bone-headed not to pull the trigger on Askarov if he’s available.
Then again they whiffed on taking Buium to draft a future 3C at best so who knows… |

Askarov for Kaliev +? - kingsfan626
As a Kings fan also you'd have to add alot more than Kaliyev plus....I think Kaiyev is too young to give up on but knowing what I know he's done with the Kings so I'd say
To Nashville-Kaliyev,2025 1st rd and a mid tier prospect like say Thomas which would suck but you have to give to get but if you could talk them into say Chromiak over Thomas that would be better. Not sure if Nash would want a goalie back but we could throw them Portillo as well.
To LA-Askarov |

Lots of potential players for Askarov:
LA snagged Kuemper. If they wanted Ask the ask as previously noted starts with Kaliyev and I’d argue NSH wanting Turcotte (they are in win now) and a 2nd Rd. over the late 1st and a mid prospect.
Colorado was the first to come to my mind though. History of success (and recent draft results) with Russian netminders (Varlamov, Georgiev, Nabokov, Shmakov) and the need to keep their crease a very affordable roster slot with Rantanen and Drouin up for deals.
Lil early in the rebuild for PHI to be goalie focused, though another Russian or two would be good to have around Michkov. I could see them signing Orlov when he hits UFA or someone of that success/veteran experience to help guide him.
Seattle is even more crowded with Grubauer’s deal and Daccord’s success.
Montreal comes to mind but I sense they want to draft Gabriel D’Aigle as the future guy there. |

Pretty sure 3rd world countries don’t have better economies than Western society countries….might need to rethink your position |

Turcotte is no guarantee to help with winning now. He has some skill, but a Glass Joe dome and a rich injury history has slowed his development. If a scorer was going the other way for "win now" in Nashville, the only guy who'd probably interest NSH is Moore. But then you'd have to really open up this trade with more assets coming LAK's way. |
