Hopefully they focus on clearing as much of the cap as possible in the next couple of years. If DB can stay the course and not sign any guys into their mid-30’s they can really start to build something. The increase will only help. This was the one statement Jonesy said the other day that was bang on….”we have to get these decisions right”.

Still wonder if this is the summer Ellis gets moved. With TB keeping the band together for another run, likely they will need an LTIR salary on the books. Hopefully, they have interest in Ellis.

I’m very willing to let DB begin to craft the team before throwing him under the bus. Again, his actions at the deadline were in line with us taking some time to rebuild this. For sure some real work to do to clear the cap but again, him taking on RJ to get a high pick is smart. They don’t need cap space at this time because they aren’t free agent buyers. Looking forward to the draft and possible future focused moves. Just because they said they like to re sign tk doesn’t mean that they aren’t taking offers. Someone overpays with a pick and some prospects and he’ll be out the door. Love tk but everyone except MM should be avail for the right price.

If the last decade has taught us anything , it’s about the actions over the words.

I’d be interested to see what the tone would be if Briere, out of nowhere, trades TK.

Singing Seeler was dumb. Laughton should already be gone.

But if they trade TK for an asset (player/pick/etc) that aligns with a down the road approach….can a rebuild still be argued?

what actions at the deadline? trading walker was easy. Was giving up a 4th for EJ smart?

No team is going to overpay for TK imo. He is being severely overrated by flyers fans to me. what is an overpay to you?

yes one move doesn't all of a sudden say rebuild 100%.

Also depends on the circumstances why they traded him, example being let's say he doesn't budge on the alleged 10 million per. In that case they were somewhat "forced" to move him as they would have smartly declined to give him that.

Many understand they want to keep TK and will do pretty much anything to make it happen. Unless tk wants out or they flat out lowball him he will be back for the next 9 years.

It's crazy that the Flyers highlight of a guy with an 8 yr/50 mill contract will be the day he get's traded with a draft pick for cap space.

No reason at all to buyout Atkinson. Let him either find his game or let him ride pine. Ride out the contract and be done with it.

Buying out Atkinson is what badly run, inpatient organizations do.

agree. slot him on the 4th line and see what happens.

everyone wants to give ex selke the benefit of the off season well do that for cam. no one is knocking down the door for playing time in LHV. if danny has balls or authority he waives ND.

my guess after watching the playoffs there should be a good solid market for guys like Laughton cates and GH.

Back to my hole. Thank you. I haven't paid attention to anything since my wife got rid of our cable.

Think Bob has a shot at the Conn Smythe? 400:1 odds when I bet that he would

Definitely has a chance. Barkov and Forsling in the mix, verhaege and Tkatchuk as well in there. Panthers don’t really have a clear pick, a lot could happen.

DB said the other day that both Atkinson and Pederson think they both are NHL players and want to be able to prove it….I’m with ya I’m not doing anything that hurts the team cap wise to help them….players and teams can agree to a “mutual” termination if they feel that strongly about playing elsewhere.
I’m sure neither wants it bad enough to leave 5 million dollars on the table.

ride both of them both out is an easy choice to me.

the flyers interest should come first. buying them out isn't in the flyers best interest.

Barkov could get it with how well he's shut down the top players from every team he's been up against. He's dominated them all.

They found a diamond with forsling. Whatever they did to turn him into what he is now is straight up magic.

If he wins the Stanley Cup....is he Hall of Fame?

2 Vezinas, Presidents Cup, Stanley Cup, possible Conn Smythe, 700 gp, will hit 400 wins next season (at 396)

Is he a Hall of Famer? I think so.

Traded for a second rounder, to make room for Bryzgalov.

According to 32 Thoughts podcast today, the market for solid players that can move anywhere in the lineup is going to be strong this summer. If true, Flyers should leverage that demand and trade SL for as much as they can get.

It's cheaper to keep the cable than it is to get rid of a wife!
