No offense intended but if it's going to be the same nonsense from Hilferty that he gave at the recent presser. No reason to waste time listening to that podcast.

“Andrew Basha is my pre-Draft choice for the 2024 Draft year's sleeper pick.”

Flyers could definitely use a couple of playmakers, even if they’re wingers and not centers. Sounds like he has a tendency to float at times and not engage physically, which are unlikely to endear him to Torts, though.

I really hope Catton falls to 12. I believe the hype that there will be a significant run on blueline early. Also, I expect Sennecke to be gone before 12.

4) On the June 7 edition of Flyers Daily, Jason Myretus has a one-on-one interview with Comcast Spectacor CEO and Flyers Governor Dan Hilferty. Hilferty discusses the first year of his tenure with the Flyers, what he has learned about Danny Briere, Keith Jones and John Tortorella, what he feels are are the traits that make for a great leader, the chemistry of a winner, and more.

--------------

They are all great human beings who finish each other's sentences. Gold Standard. The PR department of an international conglomerate multimedia company ranked 28th on Fortune 500 won an award, isn't that amazing? People stop them on the street and break down crying saying "Thank you sir, for all you've done!"

I think that should about cover it based on the last podcast.

So Drysdale needed surgery for a significant injury. Once again a player playing through something where the team needed to step up and shut them down. Just win, baby.

Also Myrtetus must be beside himself. His years of bootlicking finally paying off.

It may be slightly uncomfortable for Hilferty, however, when he realizes the fans that have been coming up to thank him on the daily was just Myrtetus dressed in different wigs.

The Flyers could receive $4 million in relief if Ryan Johansen is placed on long-term injured reserve. The 31-year-old forward was waived by the Flyers shortly after being acquired as part of their return for Sean Walker ahead of the trade deadline. He did not play again after the trade because of a hip injury, which Briere said has left his status for next season uncertain.

"He's going through some kind of rehab," Briere said. "He had an injection; claims he has a hip injury. At this point, honestly I'm not too sure where it's at. We're not sure if he's going to need surgery, or if he's going to be ready for camp. We don't really know at this point."

Sounds like Briere does not believe for one second Johansen is really hurt and he is using the injury to avoid being sent down to the AHL. Looks like Johansen will end his NHL career on LTIR.

People keep saying Jones was joking when he said the rebuild was just to keep the rubes in line.

Again, my concern is it's not a strategy to wait for players to fall to you at 12. I really hope the Flyers are aggressive and get a top player in this draft they target. They have enough draft capital and other assets to do it.

Where did you hear that? From what I've seen his feet are always moving and he's very active in all three zones without the puck and he's a hard worker.

didn’t he play every game with Colorado up until the trade?

But... can he block shots? If not, there's plenty of room for him in the Cote suite.

Yes. Briere found out about the "injury" after the trade when they tried to send him down.

So that goes back to did they know he was injured? Doesn't seem like it, but who knows who is telling the trurth. Extreme incompetence to trade for any player without a physical, especially after still having Ellis on the payroll, years after taking him on.

Won't play him, can't demote, trade or buyout the "injured" player. Just stuck with his salary for the year.

Resign TK so he's a Flyer for life? Give Cal and Cam a chance, or we might buy them out. Just the complete opposite of what should be done.
That whole article makes me shake my head. No plan, no knowledge and no idea.

Bryz deal extra color. For his rights they traded Matt Clackson and third-round picks in the 2011 and 2012 Entry Drafts.

Those picks became: Harrison Ruopp D (2011) who never made it to the NHL & Oskar Sundqvist C (2012) but traded to PIT. Sundqvist would win the cup twice, once with Pit and again with the Blues.

Somewhat unrelated but still interesting, in 2011, the Flyers ended up with Columbus’ 3rd round and drafted….drum role please….Nick Cousin (future Cup winner). In 2012 they would restock that 3rd they traded and select…Ghost!

What a great trade tree. Not sure if it made me happier or sad to look that up.

They're not a very good source for accurate prospect info.

One of Basha's main traits is how competitive and hard working he is in all three zones, and how he doesn't shy away from the middle of the ice or going up against bigger dudes.

He's exactly the kind of player Torts loves.

That's fair, I just look at the history of GMs not trading out of the top 10. Maybe, this is year it happens with BUF and NJ already publically hinting their pick is for sale.

I listened for you. All about how Hilf is impressed w/ the triumvirate and how things are really working well now. Nothing more than fluff corporate speak. Jason always with the hard hitting interviews... lol

I got a look at both logos and can say this:

🟠 #FlyTogether is a modernized version of the Mighty Ducks logo in orange, black and gold.

⚫️ #GoKingsGo is a modernized version of the Gretzky-era logo in black and silver with a new crown design inside.

Will be nice to have these back in the league:

Looks like Carolina has put the "For Sale" sign on Necas. Also, looks like Guentzel's negotiating rights up for sale.
