Watching Band of Brothers, incredible men achieving insane things against insurmountable odds.

Memorial Day is for those who had their lives taken in service to our country. Men & women whose voice was silenced, many in foreign lands, leaving behind Families and friends.....and an eternally grateful nation. Today, we pay our respects to those who have the roads to freedom. For those Families who count Fallen among their ranks: "Thank you. May the Lord bless you and your service member."

Please remeber that Veteran's Day is for those who have served. Today is for those laid down their lives.

Peace be with you.

Band of Brothers is incredible. There was a documentary on peacock about the D Day invasion. Surviving vets returned to the beach and a French town welcomed them. It was amazing to see these guys cry seeing families just walking along that beach. Very humbling

It has amazed me to find out that 16 year olds lied about their age to crash upon that beach. I was self absorbed and horrible at 16. I believe you did serve, and I thank you for it

There was a ton of folks that did that....my grandfather enlisted in the Navy in Detroit with a kid was was freshly 16, kid was caught & sent home but was later accepted by the Army. Grandpa was "nearly" 18.... Wholly different mentality back then, the country was mostly united in a common cause, it's not that way now as we all know.

I was 18 so there wasn't any issue getting me in....although my recruiter was found mugged & beaten whilst I was in Basic Training, found out it was someone he put in that didn't make it through Basic so the kid took it out on the recruiter. Again, different mentality today, for sure.

Bless you and your grandfather for your service. My God, beating up the recruiter.
