I know most all of us want a real rebuild, most of us don't believe it will happen. Just for fun, assume we are right, MM comes over and the Flyers decide to add Center help, D help. Who would you target, who might be available? |

Since they’re capped out, I see them following the Minnesota model. They’ll buyout sanheim and coots contracts, sign ufa’s pesce and lindholm long term, and reimage the team around michkov. It’s worked so well for Minnesota. |

They need a 1C and a 1D. Teams aren’t moving guys like that without a massive return coming back.
They need to stay patient, move at least one of Laughton/TK for picks/prospects and continue to build through the draft.
However, with the Flyer’s track record, throwing big bucks or trading youth/picks for an aging 2C or 2D is much more likely to occur. It’s why they’ve bounced around from so-so to bad over the last 12 years and counting. |

we agree, so assume they will, who will they try to get? I think Sam Bennett on the C side. I think it is a mistake but hey, we need something to talk about |

I expect plenty of hockey trades this summer because the UFA market is weak and the first meaningful cap increase in years. GMs have a relatively short shelf life especially when they don't win- winning does matter. |

Just put Michkov with Frost and see what comes of it. They're not going to find that 1C or top defenseman this offseason.
You would think at some point reality would smack them in the face and they would try to draft those guys. |

Well they kind of tried and swung missed badly. Jay O'Brien, German Rubtsov. and Nolan Parick could have made the current team look significantly different if they panned out.

For entertainment purposes only:
Necas for Farabee, RR and Ducks 2nd
Zegras for Colorados 1st next year and Frost
Laughton to Buffalo for Krebs
TK and Couts to Utah for whatever they can get! Prospects/draft capital
Sign Teresenko (for Michkov)

Eric Tulsky agreeing to trade for Ristolainen is very entertaining.

I would imagine his own analytics computer program has a Klaxon warning playing at 100db when He puts RR's name into it. DANGER! DANGER! WARNING! WARNING!

As you said a true rebuild is the way to go. But to answer your question. Past rumors have stated Zegras, Pinto, Chychrun, & Chabot. Zegras has a lot of offensive potential and is still young enough that he could become a 1C, though I think he’ll top out as a higher end 2C. I don’t see it with Pinto, his production to this point is basically in line with Frost but he’s a bit bigger. I wouldn’t waste my time on him. Chychrun & Chabot align with finding a lefty to pair with JD. They’re also not terribly old at 26 & 27. There’s also Necas but I don’t see 1C upside there. Depending on how FA rolls out, other LD might be Zadorov or Skjei. Center FA’s they probably target Lindholm or even Monahan. Once they put Ellis and Johansen on LTIR. They’ll have more than enough space for these guy. Plus if they trade for someone, roster players will be going back in return.
I will repeat, I think going this route is a terrible idea. |

I get it but if past failures are going to deter you from drafting and developing, then what's it all for? Might as well fold up shop. |

Necas wants to play center. The canes coach who was a very good center doesn't seem fit to play him at center. wonder why |

I’d trade a D man for the right center. At least Bonk is in the pipeline. |
