Leafs have Boston right where they want them, a false sense of security

Leafs used to dropping series when ahead, so now going for the uno reverse

Obviously most will say Dallas. A lot of the 1st round has been bad to watch. Especially in the EC. WSH might be the worst playoff team in the modern era. Ovechkin was a ghost the entire series.

Yep. Marner has been a 100 point playoff scorer in Games 1-4 and a half a point a game in Games 5-7 up until this year. Now he will reverse that. The Bruins are in for a rude awakening. What happened to the Preds yesterday will be forgotten after the Leafs finish with them.

Vancouver was a surprise to see that they are up in the series to be honest, the Preds were my favourite (always are) and I do see their leadership showing up and changing the complexion of the series.
For the same reason I see Winnipeg winning the next game but not the series.

Boston is clearly in the head of the Leafs and the Leafs are spread too thin trying to do to much instead of just playing their game. If the Leafs have a hope It comes down to making adjustments and finding a way to put a rowdy bunch back on their heels.

Florida is going to step on the neck of Tampa, its over.
The Canes are closing it out too, I have such a soft spot for the Islanders but the Canes are so strong.
The Panthers and the Hurricanes are on a collision course.
The South East must be so happy about hockey these days!

I see Colorado ending things as well.
Edmonton is rolling They'll keep it going. Skinner needs to stay healthy and calm.

Ek picked Toronto and Nashville to win their series, so I'm going to say both of them have a good chance of recovering. The other teams are toast.

All have a chance.

Leafs 12%. Fragile team. Two games in BOS. Matthews ill.
Kings 18%. Oilers are the better team.
Islanders 10%. Hurricanes a better team all around.
Predators 21%. More balanced. But still 3 in a row is a stretch.
Jets 10%. The jets have talent but Colorado has talent plus experience.

First of all This goalie interference BS is really getting old If you want these princesses to wear a skirt that is where this crap is headed. Goalies move out and initiate contact and then the forward who is just standing there is interfering Give me a break I have seen goalies run over and nothing called Let those fairy princess have their little domains protected BS

And does anyone else think Kevin Weekes is very annoying Mr Know it all as I like to call him He promotes all the players like he is their agent and getting a piece of the action Just an annoying presence on these broadcasts Thinks he is an expert He was a hack of a goalie and he is an expert Give me a break

Hakstol is out in Seattle (Ron Francis is the GM) and Brindamour is in the final year of his contract? Carolina ownership is notoriously cheap. Look for Seattle to make their big splash and land the biggest free agent coach since Babcock went to Toronto.

Brindamour himself has already acknowledged this won’t be an easy negotiation. He’s one of the lower-paid coaches in the league while simultaneously being one of the most successful.

What season has CAR owner Dundon been cheap?

If the Canes win the Cup, Rod isn't leaving. If they come close, he isn't leaving.

More likely that Seattle targets other options...Gallant, Woodcroft, Berube, Sullivan, hey maybe Tampa decides to move on from Cooper and he lands in Seattle.

Tom Dundon refused to pay for the cell phone bills of his scouts, much less pay for their phones as recently as the last few years.

Are we seriously going to pretend that when Montreal offer sheeted Aho with a $21 million up-front payment, that people weren’t expecting Aho to be a Hab? They took the entire week to match and as much as they claim it was “gamesmanship,” anyone outside Raleigh knew there were serious internal discussions whether to let Aho walk.

Brindamour himself has flat-out stated:

“I know it’s not going to be an easy negotiation,” said Brind’Amour on The David Glenn Show. “I can tell you that.” (https://carolinahockeynow...tion-mclellan-laviolette/)

Why would he say that? He’s paid in the bottom-ten of head coaches but he’s arguably a top-five or -three coach in this league.

Because he knows his boss is a penny pincher.

Any team out there with halfway deep pockets and a bench vacancy is going to be knocking on his door. Hell, Sheldon Keefe seems to be dead man walking and Toronto absolutely loves blowing tons of cash on coaches.

Let’s not forget that they also have a ton of players to resign. At least one big name from this current team (coaching or player) is not going to be with the Canes next season. My money is on Pesce being the guy that goes to market
