Kane is out today against Buffalo... looking like Thursday against San Jose. LaLonde is saying Lyon is in goal tonight.

I absolutely love this positive outlook!!

The flaws and shortcomings tend to draw our attention and they are definitely the areas that need to be addressed in order to take the next steps forward but we cannot lose sight of the significant progress this team and franchise has made recently.

Being a Wings fan is fun again and we need to enjoy this journey!!!

I was planning to bet on the Wings for tonight's game, since I'll be at the game. This news about Lyon in net just bumped up my bet. Hopefully I don't end up cursing them and this nice run they have been on.

For anybody who can't watch the game tonight because they don't have ESPN+ or Hulu... I found a good streaming site called NHL Webcast. You don't need VPN or even need to register an account. I've had great luck with it and it has every game in the NHL in HD (1080p). There does not seem to be any blackout restrictions either.

Thanks for dropping that in! Hulu is in the middle of merging with Disney+ so if you have that service you’ll have both fairly soon. I hadn’t heard of NHL Webcast, so good info to go around. Well done

Vladdie sorry for your treatment on the sabres blog! They don’t take to well with blogger from other threads.

Come on Lyon! Let’s go!!!

Disappointed not to see 88 play, but that will happen soon enough. The whole “patience model” seems to be applied well with the Wings. But man! I’m chomping at the bit to see him. I’m in Texas for work, so looks like I’ll have to watch the game on my phone

Oh no worries at all... I'll definitely stop by and post again. I've got pretty thick skin as you may have noticed. Sparring with one jackass punk won't deter me from talking to some of the other guys in there. I enjoyed talking to a couple of the other folks who actually want to hear somebody else's opinion outside of the Sabre blog. Not sure why the hostility towards other bloggers... it's definitely a weird and somewhat negative vibe in there.

Feel free to stop in here and post anytime. We like to talk to bloggers from other teams and get an objective take on things.

I went on the Sabers blogs quite a bit last year and did not get too much flak. I think that the fact that the Sabers are underachieving this year has made them a bit hostile. That and they are sour the Wings got their hometown hero Patty Kane.

I’ve been watching the ESPN announcers tell us how awesome Buffalo is playing and fans should be happy with their first period. They should be miles ahead of Detroit and well past the rebuild stage. In the past twelve years, they’ve had ten top 10 picks including two #1s and two #2s. In that same span, Detroit has had seven top ten picks and the highest they’ve picked was fourth.

It makes me appreciate what Yzerman is doing in a relatively short period of time with a team that was in shambles when he came on board. Sure, they have a ways to go but they won’t be perpetual bottom feeders like a number for NHL teams are, including Buffalo.

They are for sure sour... the negative, nasty vibe in there is palpable. Only had one jackass that I got into it with... but he was just a snotty, arrogant punk. He is an embarrassment to their blog. Couple of other guys were cool to chat with. I'll post there again soon. I bet it would be fun to do that right after the game if the Wings win.

Quick update- hey all! I had a little trouble from some mini strokes I had recently. I will post a game review tomorrow. I am so sorry it didn’t happen today. Just one of those nights and the meds are brutal! Be good to each other. Much love

Whelp... the Wings sure don't like to make things easy for themselves. Good grief I thought it may turn into another 3rd period collapse. I'm glad Lyon was in goal. He played a solid game. Probably would have lost if Husso was in goal. I have the most confidence in Lyon. I'm wondering if he's now actually taken the backup job from Reimer. They could wait until the trade deadline and see if they get any takers on Reimer.

The lack of physicality on this team concerns me than Defensive coverage or shaky goaltending. It's just absent most nights

Yeah.... some extra sandpaper would be beneficial. Right now they have Kostin and to some extent Chiarot. Was hoping we'd see more from Fischer since he has size but I'm disappointed he didn't bring more grit/physicality. At least the team is forechecking to some degree... but they still need to step it up and create more turnovers.

I think they’re intertwined. When you see players just get thrown around or pushed down it takes them out of the play and opens opportunities for the offense. That balance of a strong, physical and contributing player seems to be lacking. Good take
