Drury will probably screw with this lineup and sign Kane. I mean who wouldn’t want to break up a 15-3-1 team to add aged vet looking for ring #4!
As much as I’d like to see it work, no thx

Who cares about Patrick Kane. He’s washed. He’s holding out for the most money and term. Odd for a man who has made over a 100 million during his career

Not Interested in Kane. Way too much unknown risk given the nature of his injury. He's only going to be a shadow of what he was IMO.

Is there a player that has returned to form after this procedure? Reminds me somewhat of the NBA players getting microfracture surgery in their knee(s) which rarely, if ever, ended positively.

Kesler never played again.
Sillinger never played again.
Backstrom played 47 games after, might come back.
Jovanovski played 37 games after.

I agree with pretty much everyone here. Kane has to prove himself and just because he decides where he’d like to play doesn’t mean that’s where he goes. League min, prove it contract.

Appreciate it. Tiny sample, but those are abysmal results. I saw Backstrom and he looked 100% done with nothing close to NHL caliber skating this year. A GM would be insane to offer more than a bonus laden performance contract to Kane.

He's not old enough for a bonus laden contract. Have to have been 35 at the start of the league year or missed a certain amount of the previous season games..

I imagine Kane wants to be a Ranger. I also know the rangers cannot pay him what he wants so internally he’s probably debating a couple million from a team (Panthers/Wings) or 800k from the Rangers (prove it deal for next season). If hes greedy he’ll play elsewhere, if he wants another cup he’ll be a Ranger ON THEIR TERMS

If the Rangers were struggling I think Drury would cave a bit and sign him for more, and probably trade Kakko to do it

Anyway, there has to be a reason why it’s taking so long. To me he owes the Rangers a favor because they jumped through hoops to get him last season. But I realize that’s not how these things work but until he signs I still think the Rangers are in

Anyone paying him over $1 Mil/1 yr is emotional not cerebral. Maybe there’s a GM with a roulette mentality that will do something silly.

There must be an explanation for the prolonged duration. He owes a debt of gratitude to the Rangers for jumping through hurdles to acquire him last season. x trench run

To those that are saying the Rangers jumped through hoops to get Kane, what exactly did they do. They paid nothing to get him

They played shorthanded for a few games (salary cap). He wanted to be a Ranger, it wasn’t the return to get him
